Solved Help identify my picture

    Hi could anyone please identify what my pictures shows, it seems to dry up and go away in the winter. Its back now and looks horrible, I have no idea what it could be.

    It looks like some sort of algae to me...
    I get it growing on the soil when it’s damp. When it is growing well, you don’t really notice it (unless you slip on it!). In the summer, when it dries up a little, it wrinkles up like in your picture....

            This is where common names can lead to confusion.
            Nostoc commune and Tremella mesenteric are very different.
