Similar here we only have our summer one on in winter and just use the empty cover during the summer months too. I would rather add a light weight fleece blanket if need be rather than be overly hot at night.:snooze:

Grey cloud most of the day, slight brightening around 4 pm but filled in again now, cool easterly wind, sensor said it reached 23C, but I must have missed that moment.

Cloudy start but warmed up with long sunny spells by the afternoon to reach 25c but very windy which helped us keep cool on a 8 mile walk along the Fleet lagoon.

Are they having a laugh or what. How long before Blackie pops up? I'm going to be interested watching what really happens.

                    Kind regards, Colin.

Stayed indoors again all day. Ceiling and free standing fans going. Usually expect to save a bit this time of year on the leccy but not so. Sadly I can't stand the heat any more, and despite a breeze outside, the air has been and still is @23.49 stifling.

My late mother-in-law was born in India, her father was in the army and posted out there. She always said. Keep the windows closed and the curtains drawn. That restricts the heat from entering. Drink plenty of water.

In the garden, we get the hose pipe out and think we have done a good job. OK climate change is now our enemy. Oh at times we long for rain. Perhaps a terrible storm etc and for a short while the garden is sodden. Then Hey! this ground is as dry as a tramps throat. Part reason is. The rain hits the soil and so often runs off due to the dryness and lack of absorbancy of the soil. What percentage of water remains is soon drawn up again by evaporation.

A few years ago. I noticed my local council inserting lengths of corrugated tubing at the base of street trees. YES! I made a joke. 'Go on Rover. Extra bonio if you can pee down that tube'. Such a wise move. So much of our ground is now covered in concrete.

In the garden. When watering. under adverse conditions. Concentrate on your prize possessions and for trees and shrubs, sink a watering tube. This will get the vital water to the roots.
                          Enjoy your garden.

Good morning all sunny intervals and light wind temp 11 to 21c
                            Sunrise was 4.48
                            Sunset 21.34
We always keep the windows closed and the curtains drawn with the heat, as you say @Mike Allen it stops the heat getting in. Sorry that you can't stand it anymore Mike.
