Watched Any Good Films Lately?

A bit of a weak wishy washy story line ,but good easy viewing. The music was great though....he certainly made the songs his own!

 

Thanks,hubby said that he's a great musician and at first i didn't think that he was the same person.

 

Don't know if he's the same person, he taught himself to play the piano and guitar when young . He hadn't played to an audience and this film was his singing debut.

 

I know but he is.

 

I went to see Yesterday because most of the UK scenes were filmed in Suffolk and some of my friends were extras. I enjoyed it and thought both the young leads were engaging and the parents were hilarious.

 

Went to see Tolkein today, it came out earlier this year but we missed it.
He and his brother had a tough childhood but the close friendships he formed at school after the death of his parents gave him a sense of belonging and fellowship. The war scenes were particularly harrowing and resulted in the sad loss of some of his dear friends. But he made it through and married the girl who he met when he was first orphaned. All these close bonds of friendship and experiences of the 1st World War served as the inspiration for some of his greatest works that he is so renown for, The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

 

I have only just found this film. I love the Tango dance scene and when I need to cheer myself up, I go into u tube and indulge,

Saw Belfast a couple of weeks ago. Being based on the life and experiences that Kenneth Branagh endured as 9 year old living in Belfast at the time of the erupting troubles, it was portrayed through the eyes of a child mostly and obviously less political or faith based.

First cinema visit in almost 2 years due to Covid.
