I don't like shopping so I get mine delivered by Waitrose. They have smart, polite and friendly drivers who help you with your shopping and don't mind waiting while the food and the sell by dates are checked. I've tried Sainsburys and Tesco too but they are outclassed by Waitrose in the choice and quality of their food.
They might be a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for.

I shop at several different stores. The reason being that I usually go through the flyers on my ReeBee app and pick out items that are on offer and that I can use within the week. Of course some pantry items can be stockpiled for long term use but mostly I shop for this coming week.

I love it when our Fortino's has things on offer
because they have parking under the store which
on hot humid days, in the winter and on rainy days, is lovely. It is bright, clean, has pleasant music playing and they have cartveyers so that your cart of groceries follow along in their own lane beside you as you descend back down with your groceries. Most of their goods are more expensive than the other shops so that is why I go for offers only.

Otherwise, I don't mind parking at the end of a lot because any added exercise is better than not bothering.

I also enjoy chatting with people whilst there... well, if they react in like manner.

The Fortino's does have a grocery pick up area but you know, I don't trust someone else to pick out the packet of meat that I would want, or the head of lettuce I'd prefer! Plus they charge for this service. :nonofinger:

Guess I'm a little too controlling. :dunno:

Is that one of the R soles that stands behind the presenter doing his bit outside the commons on the grass.
Everytime we get a stupid person hanging around behind with a placard saying "remain"or something similar.

About time they blurred the background out, or lets not have these idiots doing their piece to the camera outside, they might as well be in the studio.

My moan is that no one, not anybody, told me that 4 o'clocks open at 4 a.m. NOT p.m. . Happened to look out at 5 this morning and low and behold, pretty as anything

Returning to the comments about doctors etc. I remember as a kid. Mum taking me to the docs. He was a big man, with hands the size of dinner plates. He had great admiration for my father. When it came to paying for the consultation, that's before the NHS, mum would put half a crown, two shillings and sixpence, on the desk. The Doc would push it back to mum saying, 'That's alright'

Another point with GP's in those days. My GP as above was also a surgeon. In those days many folk were troubled with boils and other skin problems. For the boil victim, a quick flash of the scapel, a squeeze and a bit of cotton wool, job done. Also the chemist is closed, Doc would mix up a bottle of 'jollop' and send you on your way.

Nowadays, GP's refer to the computer screen, like you and I might do when Googling 'what's good for a pain in the 'a'...how's your father? Then you are referred to the local hospital. IMHO this is sort of action contributes to the long waits and the ever soaring cost of the NHS.

@shiney that is so pretty. I have tried germinating evening primrose with zero luck. My 4 o'clock flowers are open and pretty and as soon as I go outside to start puttering, they will close up :doh:They remind me of small petunia blooms.

Maybe the persons concerned should go and get a job, how they manage to hang around all the time there I dont know?
I'd hate to think my contributions were going to the like of this scum.
