Well, the total rainfall last night did, as I thought it might, reach over 30mm before midnight:coffee::), and then by the time in the morining I got up and opened the Kitchen door for a short amble around we'd had another 7.5mm. It's now warm and sunny with some cloud floating by, the wind is coming from the SouthEast, the temperature is 72f, and the pressure is 989hpa

        Hi,

I really do despair; it seems everything I try to do is spoiled by Blackie & Gale; I've just dashed out to trim a very wet hedge before it rains again then I wandered to the top of our mountain to inspect the latest weather damage. GRRRRRRRR.

        Kind regards, Colin.

To the left our beautiful wild flower meadow has taken a battering from wind and rain.

        Another image showing the damage.

Yet another image this to the right; I detest Blackie & Gale with a passion neither will give me any peace at all. I spent a great many hours with hard graft to create a meadow only for this to happen; the only way round it is to build a fortress. Last night I received yet another soaking from Blackie just because I was being kind feeding our neighbours cats at the end of the street whilst our neighbours are on holiday.

            Hi,

Many thanks for your cheery comment wiseowl. :dbgrtmb:

Unfortunately Blackie and Gale won't let anything recover not even me; they're tiring in the extreme; I'll be amazed if the meadow flowers stand up straight again but my fingers are crossed; after a miserable start this morning the sun is now shining and our patio is dry but it won't last.

I'm not turning into Victor Meldrew I think Victor Meldrew was based on me.

You're definitely right though wiseowl; nothing will beat me; I just keep floating back.

New 21-hour thunderstorm warning issued for Huddersfield

This is as regular as the DFS SALE?

            Kind regards, Colin.

                  Hi,

Thanks lolimac; I wouldn't wish Blackie and Gale on anyone; if Bron and I moved these two would be in the moving van so they didn't lose us.

The sun finally showed its face this afternoon and I've been out with the hoe giving weeds a hard time; it's only a couple of weeks ago I cut back the big laurel hedge at the top of the mountain; it needs doing again; one consolation we aren't often troubled with dust.

                  Kind regards, Colin.

There is one consolation Colin which we mustn't forget,we're in Gods own country and Huddersfield is a lovely place.

                                Hi,

                                Thanks lolimac; perhaps because I don't believe in any god is the reason I'm always under Blackie and blown around by Gale? Have you visited Huddersfield by car? I live here and can't stand the town center never ever visiting avoiding it like the plague. The nearest Bron and I get to the town center is the ring road and we even avoid this whenever possible;

Seven people are getting a bus gates fine every HOUR

The alcoholics; crack heads; and other low life can have the town they so richly deserve.

It's a good job I'm always cheerful.

                                Kind regards, Colin.
