It just seems a bit early, even in a greenhouse.
I've got Flame on my allotment, hoping for my first couple of bunches this year.

            Roads closed.!!!!!!
If they close anymore around here no one will be going no where.

On my way to work there are at least 6 road closed signs, some say closed some say they will be closed.
Some idiot, (from the KCC), has put gaffer tape on the signs and scrawled over it with a marker pen, with dates, its totally illegible, and to read it you would have to stop and get out your car.

Half the time the so called closed roads are not closed and no one is working on them, even though the potholes are diabolical.

We have a main road out of town that was shut for over three months, while they "thought" about filling in a sinkhole, that same road is now shut for 6 weeks because Brit gas want to upgrade the mains.
Not in the same place, so they could have done this at the same time as the sinkhole bunch were "thinking".

We have the M20, roadworks in one direction, "downgrading it to a dangerous motorway", they think they are upgrading it to a "smart motorway":lunapic 130165696578242 5:
And in the other direction "operation Brock"Highways England | Improvements and major road projects

which pretty much has an accident everyday.

Add to that every service company there is seems to be digging holes rummaging around trying to find their cables and pipes.

I think we might as well just say England is closed for the summer.

@pete it seems all of our roads are under construction in the summer but we do have extremely cold winters that prohibit all kinds of road works. What really gets my goat is that a major road that I use nearly every day has been under construction for over 3 years and there's no end in sight!

Also, I've seen a joke that features the car from Back to the Future and the main characters with the caption, "it's 2060 and the 401 is still under construction.." The 401 is the main highway that takes you from one side of Ontario to the other and the section across the top of Toronto is constantly being ripped up.

I figure those three guys watching the one actually working are in charge of figuring out how next to delay completion..

Well, nice to know its not just us @CanadianLori.
But what is wrong with these people?

Why dont they get on with things, I'm guessing its all about "milking" the job and they need a good kick up the backside.

We have so many road closed signs and diversions its not actually possible to work out what diversion you are following, its ridiculous.
Anyone who doesn't know the area are going to get totally lost.

We have had a lot of roads 'resurfaced' around here including ours which means the cheap and nasty spray with tar and cover with lose grey chippings and hope they stick. Half of them don't. A lot get stuck in the tyre treads and then dropped on our drive then we unknowingly drive over them embedding them in the resin coating on our drive.:wallbanging:
Plus the fact that it is soooo noisy to drive on compared to the (probably) more expensive but much quieter tarmac.:frown:

Yes, we have those silly "Detour" signs where roads are closed, however most of the time there is only one - how the heck is that supposed to work when it sends you 90 degrees from the direction you were going and there are no more signs to direct you back?

@pete two of our visitors on Sunday were coming from Hawkinge. they got onto the M20 (there were no signs saying it's closed up ahead) and came to the junction that was closed. They had to go all the way home before they could detour because lots of other roads were closed as well  Three and a half hours to get here but only one hour twenty minutes going home down the M2/A2.

Having two threads with the same title is annoying. Can't the " unofficial" one be closed down.

Its annoying having what was a perfectly good motorway, pretty much on your doorstep, that has been sodded up, big time, and having to go and extra 10 miles to get to one that actually goes anywhere.
