A bit like wearing holes in socks....what happened to the wool?

My previous mention of excavated soil was based on the practice of tunnelling beit by rodents, POW escapees and of course industrial tunnelling. The excavated soil is naturally passed backwards. Hence my mention of a rabbit's bolt hole...bunny is/was digging from the inside-out.

The finding here that the hole/tunnel only went back a few cm's tends to substatiate my point, that the soil had been moved to the rear.

Relating to moles. The familiar mole-hills is evidence that this is where Mr. Mole has gone to ground. Reason the holes in the lawn show no excanated soil is obvious. Mr. Mole probably comes up for air, prior to digging in again. This brief period above ground provide owls, foxes etc to reduce the mole population.

The mole-hills provide fine soil for cuttings, provided no weed killer has been applied.

The one's in our garden are trustworthy, but they have no links to money, just the food I put out for them :)

        To quote Ronny Barker
"they dug another tunnel and put the soil down there"
