WHAT'S BUZZING OR FLYING NEAR YOU 2019

Hi, very interesting about Blackbirds, males usually chase young ones out of their territory by now but 2 are still here, perhaps the adults have gone as the Song Thrush is singing closer now.
Not sure if this (trial) Nuthatch photo can be seen as a Thumbnail, or a full size picture? (Reduced in Microsoft Paintshop). View attachment 127343

Well, cleaning behind the kitchen door the other day, I saw a familiar beastie...

I’ve finally go round to taking him off the kitchen table (don’t think the MiL would be too impressed when she arrives tonight) and taken a photo.

Obviously, it is an ex-insect, that has ceased to be...
(Wings between 2.5-3cm long) - any guesses as to what it is/was?

Those strange moments when having a conversation in a foreign language with a native speaker, and you are both desperate to understand each other, because you are passionate about the topic. I remember thinking “something-lion? Ant-lion? What is the woman on about?”!!

Only the most beautiful little Gold Crest..never seen one in the 'flesh' before..magic

@lolimac I have often had my camera with me and seen Goldcrests but still have difficulty in getting a shot of one as they are so active!

P.S. He only has 3 wings, which might explain why he didn't fly off as I approached, like the other Hawkers.
