Well, until a few months ago I was using a Desk Top running W7 and had all my images which have a lot of memories, on it as well as PB but; unfortunately, it crashed and died so badly I wasn't able to get any images off it forcing me to get another Laptop in addition for the one I use solely for the Observatory:wallbanging: But not being able to download from PB is really frustrating as that would solve all my image problems,:coffee::dunno:

Today I've not done a thing, so far, in the garden but merely sat on the Patio entranced by the number of Butterflies that for the last few days have been fluttering around. I was worried in earlier posts about the alarming lack of any Butterflies but, I have to say, that this year has become the best year in decades. The three big Buddlieas are literally smothered in Butterflies and at times there are 3 or 4 on the same flower!!! They're also visiting the Clematis and other plants in numbers I have never seen before, despite 95% of my plants being planted with the intention of attracting and feeding all insects and that I garden organically but have never seen anything like this. The borders are just alive with Butterflies flitting from one Hardy Perennial to another, while sitting on the Patio with my Mug of Tea they're landing on the bright orange T-Shirt I'm wearing, and others are flying past in such numbers that I'm moving my head to avoid them!!! Even Jenny the Cat lying in the shade has them landing on her, am I complaining!!!, not likely!!!, it's fantastic.:love30::thumbsup::hapydancsmil:

I'm so pleased for you mate, I was similarly concerned if you remember and I too am being visited by many, many butterflies, the garden was Red Admiral land yesterday with at least 30 and quite a few others! I typically get about 45 butterflies in my garden a day on a sunny one, they're all over the buddleias here too! Sounds like you're doing great there with them! My favourite day of 2019 with butterflies was when I stepped out into the back garden earlier in the year and had around 40 Peacocks and 20 other butterflies in the back garden, just magical! :)

@Jiffy That seems rather odd! Are they very young buddleias or something? Are you deadheading regularly?

Well, like me, Jiffy, you must like "Bubbleias"...........I have the Blue, White, and Yellow. I did take a cutting of a wild dark blue one several years ago and it grew massively so unfortunately it had to go..............I'll put up some signs saying "Butterflies this way" pointing towards your garden.:thumbsup::heehee:

It just seems like such a low number for such a high number of plants! I wonder if there's a nature reserve, country park or whatever near Jiffy's home, leading them all away from it? :noidea:

Yes, I remember, Nick. I didn't really realise how much I looked forward every year to the arrival of the Butterflies and I really was worried about the then absence of them early this year...........but it's amazing how things turn around...........and we're not complaining are we??!!!:love30::yes:

I think that's the word to describe it because of the huge numbers of the Butterflies, they're flying around in waves from plant to plant!:hate-shocked::hapfeet::hapydancsmil:

Yesterday I was planning to wade into the pond today so that I could tidy up the Bog Garden and banks, but I wasn't feeling very well this morning so I cancelled it. Now I'm feeling more up to it so I'll wait until the "cool" of the evening and then, hopefully, have a wade around.....once in it's really therapeutic and I feel really at peace when pruning and netting out the leaves and debris while wading around.:hate-shocked::rolleyespink::dunno::heehee:.......I'd say I was going daft but I'm there already!!

Behind me, on the way to the beach, there is a nature reserve and a special spot for butterflies. Lepidopterists ...forgive my language!.....gather out there for regular searches, or whatever they’re called. Not the most gregarious of beings they all have the serious look of a scientist/undertaker but mention butterflies and they will talk until the cows come home :)
I don’t think the butterfly sanctuary adversely affects butterflies elsewhere locally. There have been plenty in my garden.....butterflies I mean not lepid.....:hapfeet:

Watering the garden was about all I did in the garden today.
An exchange of my Sweet Petite toms with neighbour’s Sweet Million was interesting. I will add S. M. next year.

Still shocked! England beat the Aussies. My heart is beating normally now :yay:

I also mentioned earlier this year about the fact that all the plants, roses and other shrubs seemed to have exploded into growth beyond normal and even those plants that don't like my sandy, hungry, soil have been growing and flowering well beyond normal and expectations.
Clematis really seem be performing really well and my Trellis Entrance into the garden is now literally "dripping" with flowers from the Clematis and Sweetpeas on both sides, and the roof. I do tie some back on the sides to keep things reasonably tidy, but let them hang down going in and out, so you have to duck going through the entrance, yet still get brushed by the Clematis...........
