I'm also annoyed that the politicians seem to think the British people are incapable of muddling through a piffling fallout on exit from the eu. Scenes from HoC last night were more embarrassment

Mr Hogan - even before negotiations start - he has been demeaning the UK.

It doesn't matter one fig if he is a tough negotiator - if he can't better WTO then what is there to talk about?

I'm going to do my utmost to buy UK and then non EU goods - and as a last resort EU goods.

The EU only have themselves to blame - all this could have been cut off at the pass if they had offered Dave a little more.

Keep faith with Boris - he will get us out.

          Agreed.

Do you mean David Cameron, clanless:scratch:?? Cameron only put the Referendum forward because the previous Conservative Governments had been promising it for years but never did anything about it. So it was only increasing pressure on Cameron that made him give in to having a Referendum, and the fact that he was convinced that everyone would vote remain. Once the result turned out to be the opposite to what he wanted, he immediately resigned so he could watch Cricket.

@ARMANDII - I think that @clanless is referring to David Cameron going to the EU to seek some degree of reform, which had he been successful would have averted him calling a referendum. As seems to be the way with the EU, the answer was nein/non and he was sent home with his tail between his legs.

Thanks, FC, and my apologies to clanless:love30: My brain is only working every now and then today..........well, that's my excuse. As we can see from 3 years of the EU constantly overriding every negotiation that the UK has had with them and saying NO , then Cameron had fat chance of getting any thing positive from the EU.

I think Mr Watson may have a point - Labour deputy urges Brexit vote before election

Jezza has no actual plan, same as all the rest, to get out of the EU and this at least gives a clear direction for Labour. In effect, it would provide a second referendum - Tory = leave, Labour = remain. JC should do it. He won't.

Jezza is in trouble - his own party can't agree - he is to some degree battling with the remainers in his party. If he goes all out remain as the TUC his main funders want - he will seriously hack off the 60% of Labour voters who wanted out.

The real reason he won't go for an election - he knows he will lose.

IMHO there are many remain voters who have accepted the results of the referendum, and value democracy far higher than staying in the EU.

                      :hate-shocked::heehee:

It's not consequential, Loofah, as it's only on the point of Boris proroguing Parliament for longer than the normal period, but he is well within the Constitution to do so. So, we're still in the period where numerous Law Suits will be put forward on this or that point, but Courts can't and don't have the power to change Parliamentary Constitution and therefore such a Court decision is only an opinion...........which can be contested, should the Government see fit leading to more murky water........but all the time it's still a case of.................

It would give me great satisfaction if non of the Conservative MP's returned to Parliament - apart for the front bench..

So Boris has 'broken the Law' proroguing parliament !!! even though it was given Royal assent !!!! so that makes our Monarch an accessory does it not?...How dare they question our Monarch...

Well, they've got more desperate as the 31st October relentlessly gets nearer, loli.

No:nonofinger:, loli, they're questioning the advice given to the Queen:love30: by Boris's Government. The Queen:love30: relies on the facts and recommendations of the Government and it's very rare that a Queen:love30: to deny the request of the Government....so she cannot be regarded as an "accessory". So, while the Scottish Court decision is only effective in Scotland it is now being pushed to the UK Supreme Courts to have the final say. Their rulings can override all previous lower Court rulings in Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland on appeal. Should the Supreme Court agree with the Scottish Court then we're into unprecedented legal country as the Supreme Court will have to consider whether (a) They regard the whole Proroguing unlawful, (b) They decide if just the Proguing period is beyond the normal standards of precedence i.e: a few days or up to around 2 weeks (c) If the Government gave the Queen:love30: the whole facts or gave her facts that were designed to lean towards the extended period of Proguing.
The Supreme Courts are just that, Supreme, and they are the end of the line for any case although they do have the right to say Yay or Nay to an application for an Appeal.

Let's face it,the Queen:love30: is highly intelligent, very much aware of what has been going on, and would probably have needed no persuasion to approve the extended proroguing. We're now into territory that "no man or Parliament has gone before" and so if the Supreme Courts, which are I know, completely independent judge the Proguing unlawful then I have no idea what will happen next, although I suspect Boris is not the one to give up.
