I would think she's probably having a cup of Tea, looking out of the window, and thinking "Oh, good, it's raining, that will do the gardens good" and "Hurry up, 31st October", while Prince Philip is singing "Rule Britania":love30::heehee:.
The Queen is, as I've said before, a highly intelligent woman who has seen numerous Prime Ministers and Governments come and go. Her responsibility is to take advice from her Government and give her Royal Assent, nothing more and nothing less. She cannot be held responsible for the advice given to her, or the motives for it, that is the Government's responsibility. So she's probably privately thinking and feeling what we all are, Contempt for her MP's, the morass of political self interest and imbecility and a wish to get out of the EU.

Yes, it does need reforming, but the whole legislation of the UK is made more complicated by the EU's flood of legislation designed to shackle it's members , including the UK, to it. Once we leave the EU on the 31st October when Article 50 is triggered then we can sort our legislation and the EU's.
Don't let the Supreme Court's decision make you think it makes it harder to leave the EU as it does not. The circumstances are exactly the same, except that the mass of people who have sat in Parliament in conflict with each other and the different Political Parties, unable to reach agreement for any deal for the last 3 years will be able to continue to do the same thing for the next 37 days.......tick, tock. Remainers will seize and gnaw on this Supreme Court decision like a bone, thinking that it's a major defeat and certain to stop BREXIT, while the Remainer MP's will return to Parliament slapping each other on the back, waving Bill Papers in the air, when all that has been decided is that they can fight among themselves for a few more days, unable to do anything positive. As I've said, if you take away the Political and Media shouting and the continuation of cries of "Resign, Resign", which has been going on for week sprevious, then what has changed??, and the answer to that is, basically, NOTHING!:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Naah, Prince Philip is probably releasing the Dogs that haven't been fed for 3 or 4 days into the grounds.
    upload_2019-9-24_16-34-27.jpeg

She's probably wishing the same thing on her squabbling remainer MPs.

So, if you have enough money you can interfere in democracy, and bulldoze your way through to get the result you want. Proof if ever we need it - the elites will get their way, and scum like me are quite literally shafted.

No point voting anymore - Gina Miller and John Bercow are clearly running the country.

That's one viewpoint, FC :) Or....11?12? of the top legal minds in England were called on to adjudicate as to whether a proven liar and cheat acted legally in preventing Parliament from sitting and possibly exposing his dubious manoeuvres. That's the other side of the coin....just sayin' :)

Fair enough - so what of any other dubious manoeuvres? They never reach court because scum like me doesn't have the money to be able to take things to court - parties such as A C Grayling going to negotiate with the EU for example - he is not an MEP or an MP, so why was that allowed to happen? I would love to have that arsehat in court, but I don't have Soros as a backer. The corruption in our democratic and law systems utterly stinks.

One thing is for sure - I would not be one bit surprised if someone now takes a pot shot at Gina Miller. There are a hell of a lot of people that are very cheesed off with her, and it is only going to take one nutter to go that one step too far and have a go at her. I genuinely hope I am wrong, but I do think she has put a number on her back.

I think you are missing the point F C, eleven Supreme Court judges have unanimously agreed that B J has broken the law. This is actually very serious . Did you even read the post I posted above by the BBC legal correspondent? Jacob R M and B J are those very rich individuals, the elite (your terminology) who interfere in democracy as has now been agreed by the eleven Supreme Court judges. I think you need toconsider your posts.

I do think some the mods on GC are guilty of bias. Posting as individuals is one thing but some of the posts are in no way neutral and have overstepped the mark, IMO. Some are even bullying of those holding a different point of view.

Stop putting yourself down, FC! There are rich scum and poor scum and there are also millions of ordinary, decent folk whose only 'power' is the right to vote. So I can see why your frustration at the delay in carrying out the referendum result. But it's not a new thing, this business of the rich turning things to their own advantage. It's been going on all over the world since time immemorial and I don't see that changing!

If you think I, or any other mod is guilty of bullying then please report us. The process there is the person being reported then steps out of the discussion as to what actions may or may not be taken. If you are dissatisfied with that, then I would encourage you to contact the owner of the website - [email protected]

With reference to your question above, yes I did read it - however, there are a couple of points that follow, one of which has already been made by @pete in that it comes from the BBC (a wholly biased organisation). The second point is that Boris Johnson and the cabinet sought legal advice with regard to the prorogation of parliament - he was advised by the attorney general that it was legal to do so. Indeed, in the prior court hearing in England, the judges found that it was legal.

Furthermore, it could also be said that the high court judges themselves are part of the 'elite' in this country that is riding roughshod over our democracy. If you are saying that I am bias in my views in my position as a mod, then it is entirely fair to say the same about the views of those judges in their position.

Why are you so angry? You refer to yourself as “scum”. I don’t think you are scum; you just hold a different point of view but I do think some of your posts are unbecoming of a moderator on this forum. I don’t have the money either to pursue legal challenges. ......think I’ll go back to gardening.

The right to vote has been made an utter mockery of by this whole mess - the difference is, that the rich can do things to get their wishes carried out. Those who have nothing to play with, can't. I will be very, very surprised if there is not a civil uprising at this rate - I have already seen moves made on the likes of Twitter to mobilise a movement.
