My 2 watching me go to work. Meg is the black Labrador and Sherlock is the blonde Labrador. Both rescue dogs.
Lovely dogs @Ian Taylor ... They look like they'd make good Gun Dogs... I think the secret with labs is to keep them lean.
I have a colleague who recently got a Labradoodle, and he showed me her photo today (complete with certificate for her passing out of puppy school) - another beautiful dog. They are so intelligent.
My parents always had labs, gorgeous dogs. We too had a few that were the bigger variety. The Difference Between English Labradors and American Labradors - LabradorRetrieverGuide.com
Interesting link @Upsydaisy daisy , but I'm still confused. Ours was taller but also bulkier, ok I think she was a bit over fed, but definitely a bigger frame than the ones you tend to see now. This was back in the late 50s and she came as a pup from a farm not far away.
Meg is small for a Lab we think she his from Gun Dog breeding stock has when she's chasing a ball she's like a whippet. She has a lovely temperament with my 1 year old grandson. Sherlock we got at 15 months old had very little training he was 40 kgs when we got him he is big for a lab, he reminds me a lot of one of the Labradors we had when I was in Afghanistan. He is getting a lot better but he's very head strong.
