We got back from hols, driving through some torrential rain on the way.

The good news is that all this rain means that nothing died of drought whilst we were away!

We’ve harvested 6 marrows from the courgette plants, salvaged some supersweet toms that had split by a quick poaching, as well as picking those that survived amongst the dying leaves. Also lots of yellow pear toms, some chillies, and some runner beans at last!!

I spent an hour or so raking up horrible Sycamore leaves but managed to avoid the rain.

We had a dry day today!!

So, I got two loads of washing dried on the line, I did a poop-scoop of the lawn, then cut the grass. The foxes and crows keep playing with the pebbles in the shallow end of the pond, so those had to be rearranged again. A little weeding around the new plants I got at the end of August, and picking of some yellow pear toms.

                    Time for a well-earned cuppa!

Managed to clear space in the tunnel (tomatoes had just about done) and then moved some of the pots with succulents in there. Thank goodness for the sack barrow ! Some of the succulents had over-crowded others in the pots so I've dug these out and given them their own pots. Trying to get ahead of the cooler weather.

I've spent some time eyeing up my Acer Brilliantissimum with a view to cutting it back where it hangs over the stone bench

I hate pruning Trees but in this case I think it is needed. So maybe one or two branches from this side will take about 8' wide and 8' deep will do the trick. It will also mean cutting back the jungle like creepers of Clematis "Armandii" that are entangled in the branches.

Dead headed the dahlia this evening and give the plants in the GH a drink , I've still got quite a bit of colour in the garden for now :).

Frost this morning :ouch1: it said it might freeze but thought it wouldn't  haven't seen any damage on the plants I even think the Ensete Maurelii is ok
