green bell peppers

    hi, i have grown green bell peppers for the first time this year in pots outside in south facing spot . have kept them fed and watered diligently. but alas the peppers are turning black, foilage is ok. are they still edible and what have i done wrong? is it a disease or overfeeding ? pic attached. thankyou you lovely people.

    Hi crocus, I believe some peppers turning black is just a ripening phase, I think if it firm it should be ok, if it's mushy It could be black rot, hopefully some of the pepper people could help more.

      Some times you get a slight blackening before they turn red .
      Just wondering though what colour yours are going to end up.
      They look ok to me at the moment.
