Your Day (apart from gardening) - what took place?

Only really talking about stuff up to a couple of inches thick so not much good for wood burners.

 

Friday had the patio doors replaced, this is before with a sliding door. All of the windows had the white strips in the units and all the houses are the same.

Very nice @Logan. It will be SO much easier to clean. I had diamond leaded light window panes in Bucks and albeit lovely, they were a pain to clean especially as we had a coal fire! I used to use a toothbrush and it was a long, tedious process. Enjoy!

 

Thank you @Victoria yes they'll be easier to clean. I've used a toothbrush to clean things that a cloth can't get into.

 

This morning hubby went to sainsbury's and they've stopped giving out single use plastic bags to put fruit and veg in. They're selling re usable bags for 50p can wash them and if need to recycle can with fabric.

Went to the opticians to collect my 2 pairs of glasses.

 

All the replacement windows have been done looks very nice. Instead of having net curtains and ordinary curtains at the kitchen window, going to have a roller blind, just waiting for it to come.

 

The roller blind arrived this morning and it just fits.
Painted the wall around the kitchen window before putting up the blind.

 

Those look like they could double as a means to strain fruit for juice. I've got one that is a dandy replacement for cheesecloth and cleans up beautifully. And that is a good price too!



Oh, and roller blinds. The clutch mechanisms they use on them these days last forever. Good choice

 

Went to Guy's Hospital London, as mentioned in the Moan thread yesterday.

I've always been clever at propagating plants, seems I can also proagate cancer cells. I now have at least five new ones since January this year. Wake me up when it's all over.

I've spent the last, what seems a century, trying to catch up with myself.

Today I harvested more cannabis (yes, my fudge helps people with loss of appetite), but I am juggling my hours to try to get my spring cleaning for 2015 or there abouts done. Got my eyes fixed and discovered why my housework had seemed easier - I just wasn't getting the job done! And now my central vac hose is out for repair. Sooo, I've been washing down lots of surfaces and anything that isn't carpeted until I get my beloved sucker back

I also rejoined the library in order to borrow ebooks for my Kindle without having to spend money and after 1 hour of trying to figure out the apps, gave up and walked away. Another day...

 

They can be washed and very durable.

Very busy day. Apart from doing laundry, baking, cleaning and trimming plants, I helped granddaughter wssh her hair. She is 11 and has long hair. She also has casts on both feet which she cannot get wet and Mom and Dad's shower head is not the detachable one with the long hose so, up to Grandma's house. I have one of those cheapy folding chairs which I put in the tub and a bucket for her feet to sit in. Lots of plastic draping and in no time she was all cleaned up. Then I forced her to eat a bowl of home made butterscotch ripple ice cream

Went to buy a racheting tie down that was advertised at £10 and it was in stock. And it is huge. They had smaller ones but those were in multipacks that started off at double the price. So this one has a 30 foot long strap and will secure 3,300 lbs. I really only wanted one strong enough to "gather" the drooping limbs of a tree that was suffering posture issues that remained after getting rid of the tree that had used it as a crutch for many years. I want to use the ratchet to gather and then secure the branches with webbing so that hopefully next spring, the physio will have worked and it won't be drooping so much. Guess time will tell.

I guess it can double as a hoist for stuff too
