I've had a response from my local MP - so one Brownie point. But it looks like it's a generic response - which suggests that he is receiving a number of critical e-mails.

The response is quite lengthy - so I'm not putting it on here - unless anyone specifically wants to see it.

Just getting a more convincing, articulate but extremist Labour Leader ain't going to appeal to the greater number of Labour voters that aren't actual members of the Labour party and who will decide whether or not, like me and others, to vote for Labour again.
So getting Starmer as Leader will only continue the internal power struggle going on within the party.

Can't keep what they got!! He's an unmitigated disaster so anyone different and voted as leader would be 'seen' as an improvement

I don't think Corbyn is running the party anyway.
Others seem to have more to say than him.

There you go, Bercow playing big man again. How can they vote on the deal as its not going to change and the speaker won't permit a vote due to it having been debated already (despite having precedent for exactly this with May's deal) ? They wanted a deal afterall but if it can't be voted on...

Not if an extremist Leader then starts purging moderate MPs by deselecting them, or taking the Whip away,:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee: as they have already attempted, and promised to do so again, and taking the Labour Party into further extremism..........that is not an improvement.:nonofinger:

Bercow - "...it's not for me to interfere..." :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

He states that the government has opportunity to debate and pass it's deal and he has in no way impinged that.... He's on another planet.

There's definitely a family resemblance, don't you think?, although I believe his predecessor had a higher I.Q and didn't wear hats.

Sorry, I have to disagree. At any point in our history, it could be claimed that it was not the right time to evict those politicians who are not doing their jobs - - it is Brexti at the moment, but just prior to that it was the financial crash, then before that it was the Iraq war and so on and so forth.

You are of course forgetting that just as there needs to be a clear out of the Conservative party, there equally needs to be a clear out of the Labour Party, the Lib-Dumbs, SNP and so on -- almost a mass cull for want of a better expression.

There is no point in letting them off the hook, letting them back into power and then going for the "we'll campaign for change" routine, as they simply do not want to know once their bum is nice and comfy in parliament - - and that will be even more the case if they are not held to account for their actions over one of the biggest things to hit the political scene in decades.
