Apologies for not examining the exact nature of all MPs vote result and mathematically displaying the correct figure. As I'm sure you realise, the intention (ie the very point of communication) was to describe the general feeling as I see it

31st nearly here - we're going to leave - Boris has something up his sleeve - Hungary will veto an extension.

Please don't take this as a personal attack but your post does sum up the ignorance at large over the current situation.
The agreement is not the issue - it is a done deal and will almost certainly be approved in due course. The current stand off is over the fact that Boris is trying to get the Withdrawal Agreement Bill (WAB) through in three days. This has only just been published, it has never been voted on before at all and it is 110 pages long (yup, one hundred and ten pages) and has over 120 pages of explanatary notes. It sets into law the negotiated agreement. As well as being stand alone legislation it also ammends the existing European Union Withdrawal Act from 2018.
Not only that but it also provides for ministers to make executive decisions involving elements of the agreement without parliamentary scrutiny. This is rather ironic as one of the things that brexiteers (including the big blond wonder) keep on about is taking control back of our democracy whilst these elements actually reduce the democratic power.
As if that is not enough he was trying to railroad the agreement through on Saturday in the absense of any form of impact assessment. His approach to this final hurdle has been to present a very complicated piece of legislation and say trust me, vote it through, I am trustworthy. Rather ironic when Boris has proven himself to be a habitual liar time and time again. And let's be honest, his track record in any major office of government does not inspire confidence.

As I say @lolimac , this was not aimed at you personally.

What an utterly ridiculous response! At no point did I say that it had to read in three days. What the blond wally wanted was for it to be debated, for ammendments to be put forward and agreed upon in three days. Not only that but if you have read the bill you will be aware that it requires frequent referencing of another 100 pages which is the European Union Withdrawal act of 2018 (which in itself received about 15 days of Commons time).

No chance of them doing anything in a few days - or months! I've been looking in on them for the last few days and all they do is throw insults at each other. Nothing gets debated - and almost nothing for the last few years!

It reminds me of the school playground and they need the duty teacher going round clipping them round the ear'hole! Oh! I forgot , that's not allowed any more . Should we have a debate on that point? :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Jezza says he will support a general election if the EU extend - what a wally - Labour will get hammered - and he knows it.

All this is academic anyway, everything is going to plan for Boris - no deal exit on the 31st.:dbgrtmb:

If it's a done deal then why not push it through? It's a variation of the previous deal so it's not being read from scratch is it and how much time did they use to debate the May deal (I honestly don't know)?
Parliament is throwing everything at delaying and preventing Brexit which is fundamentally against the referendum result and that is my biggest problem with parliament at this point. Give them more time or less time, it will make no difference as they will find new ways of scuppering the process of leaving. The PM is the only one actually trying to make it happen; yes he's trying to push it through - he made a declaration of leaving on the 31st so why on earth would he not try and keep to that? Corbyn, Swinson et al would do the same if they were in office and the job had fallen to them.
BOTH sides are crying about democracy and BOTH sides have valid points but lets not be coy about this, it has zip all to do with it; this is about personal attacks on whichever PM is in office in attempts to frustrate the Brexit process until such point the hope is that A50 is withdrawn.
People don't really need an impact assessment do they? It's going to be bad in the short term and recover at some point after. That is utterly irrespective of whether we leave with a deal or without.
Trust in politics. :lunapic 130165696578242 5: Really? Politics is completely situational, a running battle to keep policy and manifesto pledges while reacting to what is actually happening; of course politicians change their tune, it's impossible to keep and deliver 100% on all promises and commitments as to get things through this shower of s**t parliament requires you to make backroom deals and water things down. Boris' track record to my mind must be exceptional as despite all the clamour about his 'lying', he's the Prime Minister and the rest aren't!

That said, if I had my way we'd get rid of the stinking lot of 'em, replace the system we have, create a constitution and start over. But would it really change anything?

Sorry, I couldn't reply last night but I was extremely tired from the gardening session earlier in the day and was heading for bed. Yes, I have read the Bill as even though semi retired I'm still paid to read such papers, as the "Interpretation, Analysis of European Laws and legislation and It's Effects" is my area of professional interest and qualification, and has been for the last 18 years while working for Crown Courts.
I've actually read and re-read the Withdrawal Agreement Bill and I have to say that, due to it's very nature and subject, it is not what could be called an exact, definitive, precise paper.
If you break the Bill down to it's basic elements it basically covers, (a) the transition period and the abiliity of Ministers to extend it by another 2 years. (b) EU laws still applying to the UK during the transition period, (c) Future oversight by Parliament of Objectives, (d) Citizens Rights, (e) Workers Rights, (f) Northern Ireland, (g) Divorce Bill and basically that is it. So having to cover, in great detail, all those controversial subject in 2000 pages, never mind 200, is impossible due to the complexity of each subject. We also have to bear in mind that the real negotiations will happen after the BREXIT Bill is passed and those negotiations will take place between the Government, not Parliament, and the EU. So, all in all the Withdrawal Agreement Bill is more like a basic sketching of Big Bird than a full painting of a Masterpiece. Each subject within the Bill will need months/years of negotiation and hundreds of thousand of written text rather than a paper that, in 200 pages, can only draw the bare bones of the Agreement.
But, in my opinion for what it's worth, the main problem is not the inevitable vagueness and inexactitude of the Withdrawal Agreement Bill it will be the Opposition Parties supposedly reading it in a fairly neutral and reasonable fashion. The SNP will, and have, dismissed it out of hand and will probably asked for thousands of copies of it so they can use it their Loo's. The Liberals will not entertain it in any fashion as their policy is to abolish BREXIT at any price. That leaves Labour, which is where I express my personal opinion. The Front Bench of Labour has, it has be demonstrated and proved, a group IQ of less than a Single Cell Amoeba and again, apart from around 10 to 19 Labour MP's, no intention of supporting BREXIT.
So what we, as the watching, exasperated, Public will now see is Amendments after Amendments from all the Opposition Parties, not to improve the Bill but to use it as a weapon/tool to delay, block, and frustrate it, as the Withdrawal Agreement Bill is just that, a Bill that legal amendments can be added rather than a paper that is a proposal and merely discussed.

Please forgive my ignorance as I realise I didn't choose my words very carefully.
Yes the 'Agreement' is a 'done deal' where as it was rather optimistic to expect the WAB to be done in 3 days..but lets face it..3 days,3 weeks,3 months..it's all about dither and delay IMHO.
