My poor photography skills don't quite do justice to the deluge, but you get the general idea

Hello I'm still working in the aviary listening to the radio 1960's style and the sound of the rain hitting the shed roof, left my saw out side in the rain:heehee:

Cloud from horizon to horizon, but the temperature is 58f and it actually feels warmer as there is now no breeze, so an ideal time for some gardening jobs. Tomorrow, I believe, might be wetter and windier tomorrow......but that's tomorrow:heehee:. Right now it's dry and the pressure reading is 973hpa.......which is probably the lowest pressure I've seen, so the Met Office is probably right, bad weather is on the way.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

We've got something much more reliable than a Met Office, here. The cranes that overwinter in Northern Africa go over in huge 'V' formations twice a year. They've started going south, which is a cast-iron guarantee that cold weather is on it's way. Goodness knows how they know, but it's infallible!

The storks haven't been leaving us for a few years now, but then our winters have been milder. Also we are getting more nesting in villages where they have not in past years. I love them. One strutting in our river bar ...

This week we've been 22c days, 16c nights, showers forecast for the weekend.

                Tomorrow sounds "interesting "......
                And it's Battle Bonfire night - typical.....:sofa:

Well I did say didn't I? :frown: My lawnmower's back and so is the rain! It's rained all day and to make matters worse we've been shrouded in fog too. It's gloomy and looks as if it's here for the weekend at least. 5C/41F

                          Hi,

I'm surprised we aren't all going south given the doom and gloom put out as news every day of the year. :wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging:

To match the news it's another wet black hole here; no Blackie at the moment but he's not needed for a few minutes having done his night shift.

The first saturday of every month is Rufforth Auto Jumble and it's an event I love to visit; after all the rain though and how bad the weather is I'll sadly give it a miss this morning; I can't be bothered driving 40 miles to park in wet grass then traipse around an exposed airfield or wander into the hanger which is always gloomy and often colder than it is outside.

                          My workshop beckons. :gmorning:

                          Kind regards, Colin.

I'm as south as we can go @Retired and I can guarantee you it's no better down here. Rain in lashing down and the noise from the gusty winds blowing through all the surrounding trees is horrendous, always scares me that one will come crashing down on us.They all have preservation orders on them and we can't even get their canopies raised.
