    We've got rain most days too except for Friday but on the downside it's down to -1 on Friday..... hopefully there is time for the forecast to improve before then .

        Hi,

        Thanks Lollimac & Woo. :)

        I like a laugh Lollimac; you mentioned sunshine? I thought you'd posted the Yorkshire forecast for next week Woo but I've just checked and sleet is missing? Here's our forecast;

        upload_2019-11-6_16-21-24.png

        Tuesday the 12th is obviously a mistake as are the days forecast without rain; it's been a miserable wet black hole AGAIN today but I'm cheerful; I've just come out of the workshop having traced and cured three gas leaks on my TIG welder; is everything made down to a price these days? My forecast though for next week is lots of bright spells; my welder sure lights up the workshop. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

        Kind regards, Colin.

          Temperature early this morning was 40f, with dull, grey skies and light occasional showers throughout the day giving 3.3mm of rain. The temperature kept rising and falling from 91f to, now, 41f but all in all not a good day weatherwise.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

                Stupid weather forecasters, not one snowflake! A heavy frost this morning but all day sunshine burnt that off nicely. A cold, still day at 4C/39F.

                It's probably what you're used too @CanadianLori but I don't know how you cope with long, cold winters. :doh:

                        Hi,

                        Just another boring wet black hole and as it's so repetitious here's my theme song again;

                        I could hear Blackie doing his Lord Of The Dance routine on our roof as I awoke this morning; neighbours going to work in cars sounding more like galleons as they splashed their way along the street; I detest this climate with a passion; what's really sick though is once every 200 years we enjoy a rare summer lasting more than a couple of days and then it's a disaster; think I'm kidding; well the 200 years arrived in 1976;

                        Learning lessons of the 1995 drought

                        Of course the rare spell of sunshine took Yorkshire Water completely by surprise; they had to fill their pond transporting water involving 700 huge tankers making 3,500 deliveries per day each day costing £3M. The details are in the news clip. I'm usually moaning because it's usually raining and when it doesn't rain we still can't enjoy it.

                        Bron and I could move but we won't be driven from our home by a splash of water; c'mon Blackie do your best you'll not drive us out. :rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp:

                        Kind regards, Colin.

                          Colin, I like Travis and certainly a good song for you. :thumbsup: Your Blackie visited us in the night so everything is fresh. We are now sunny and breezy, about 17c going to 21c with maybe a shower again later. We like it like this ... but it is jeans and sweater weather to us although the tourists will be in shorts, tank tops and flip flops! :hate-shocked:

                            Hi,

                            Thank's Victoria; :) our tourists will be kitted out like Eskimos; pouring rain and a scorching 7C if lucky for us today; I've seen days in midsummer where it's struggled to reach 10C so for November it's not too bad after all. I'm having a mug of tea and bickie then I'll get wet as I wander down to the workshop; if it becomes any darker I might attach a rope between our rear door and the workshop door then I can find the workshop. GRRRRRR.:wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging:

                            It's being so cheerful which keeps me going. :yahoo:

                            Kind regards, Colin.

                                Our lane is flooded at the end ( not too deep) and we are now blocked by a fallen tree this morning. They are now busy chopping it up.

                                Sorry to sound harsh @Retired ( I'm not meaning to be) but you say that you 'detest this climate with passion ' and that ' we won't be driven from our home by a splash of water'. But surely don't you feel it's more than a 'spash ?? Sadly life doesn't give us a trial run......this is it !

                                Move, and you and Bron can have a more enjoyable retirement. That's certainly what I would do!:dbgrtmb:
