Cannot and will not vote red while the party is structured as it is and spout any old balony just to try and win votes.
Certainly I'm unsure about Brexit Party and their ability to run the country after brexit but how could they be worse than recent years? Dunno.
Blues, for me, are the only ones signing up to respect the referendum and that is the only reason I'll support them. On another note, JRM is often taken out of context and dragged through the gutter press. Not saying he's not a despicable character but he's not as bad as others. (And the Bullingdon Club is lovely by the way ;) )

Across the pond... another billionnaire is readying to go against Trump :) Once he's decided on a political party to stay with of course

Which is one of the reasons why I said that Parliament will be a different place, hopefully for the better, after the General Election with new MP's that watched the debacle of the previous Parliament and may have learned the lessons.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

The character will certainly change initially, but will it simply revert to old ways after the back room machinations take hold?

This would be about right. She hates the English and wants to break up the union plus destroy England. Two for one right there. If the SNP would pause even for a second to look inward and at the financial position of Scotland alone...

And I'm sure businesses are really going to thank a labour government that extends paid maternity leave even further!

Gosh the things coming out in this election are frightening in themselves! Maybe they're all issues that could have been talked about if Brexit hadn't dragged on so long?

Is it my imagination or is Corbyn looking more and more like Albert Steptoe every day.

Someone should send him a packet of razor blades, the designer stubble just makes him like a "dirty old man".

Steptoe had more warmth in his character.

Jo Swinson is again dripping that the yellows are excluded from a debate and not therefore able to challenge the blues and red on Brexit. The problem really is that there is no debate to be had - she's against and the blues are for and the reds are whatever the wind blows that day so what would a debate around that establish? It's not as if Boris is suddenly going to say, gosh you know what Jo, you've convinced me to repeal A50!

Blues getting smashed about the NHS again today. Fair enough, they've made a lot of cuts and they're hurting a lot and the public are rightfully annoyed also. My question is - is it better that they made 10 years of cost cutting over not being able to afford, as a country, the NHS at all, and abolishing it completely? They've turned the money taps on again (no surprise in time for the election) so money is coming back in after the austerity and any new government will do the same.

To be honest, pete, I thought that from the very start when he campaigned to be leader of the Labour Party. After a couple of appearances in Parliament when he became leader they tried to "tidy" him up, along with the rest of his cronies on the Front Bench. I guess he's one of those people who will look like a "Rag and Bone" man whatever they try to do to him. I believe they have a large paper bag ready as a last resort.:dunno::heehee:

I see the point in education for those that can benefit, but these days they all get educated whether it's worth it or not.
Yes it keeps them off the dole queue:biggrin:

I think we have always had the professional unemployed and the benefits system is to blame, trouble is, if you try to change it the bleeding hearts in our society will play havoc with any suggestion they should be clamped down on.

Far too many getting educated beyond their intelligence these days.

I think it was Labour that introduced lowering the educational standard for university entrance and also entry into the police service. The idea being, to give the less educated and what is known as. The ethnic minorities a chance to make something of themselves.
IMO, it hasn't worked. Time and again when questioned, many uni students will reply that they have little desire to follow and progress in their chosen field. Likewise with police candidates. The numbers quitting the course far outweighs the genuine ones.
