Yes, I think you would like Scotland. Most of the Highlands is still undeveloped mostly because of the terrain. I'm living in a rural area with mostly animals for neighbours. It's beautiful and quiet, just perfect for me. :)

The view from my back garden...

I have a small boat which came from 'Lyme Bay' in England,..its a great way to escape the usual routine,..going north i don't meet any houses as the river is a very short distance from the Lake,..the Lake is 15 Kilometers long and 12 wide when one travels through its back to the river and further north through more lakes,..if i navigate south i must pass through the small town,..seen in the video below.

      The Lake.
The Island beyond the yellow marker on the left is 'Hare Island' where the largest hoard of Viking gold and silver in Europe was found.

About five and a half minutes into the video there's a derelict house just crying out to be renovated. It's in a lovely position. :)

@Sheal ,..ah yes that house was like that since i came here and that was 25 years ago,..i often thought i would be able to something with it,..there is even a road beyond it,..fantastic view from up there,..its called 'Wrens Island'.

There are many houses abandoned here,.. where the older members of the family died and the younger ones went abroad but never came back.

I LOVE photographs with no humans. When I did my Country Life and Algarve Daze threads some years ago I made sure the photos were people free.

@Victoria ,..funny you should have posted that you Love photographs with no humans because i captured a few today,..i must admit for the first time that i find i am the same,..perhaps its because i don't meet many people when out and about and if i do i don't really want them in a landscape image.

Along the river but in a northerly direction today,..this was just half the walk lol.

The abandoned cottages remind me of all the ones here, mostly up in the hills. Sad as the old folk have gone and the youngsters don't want to live in such locations and have moved to the towns or cities. Such is life.

Blimey, I would love to live in the middle of nowhere, providing I could work sufficiently to be able to live of course.
