Amandii. I totally agree with you. Sadly I haven't met any members apart from FC. In all honesty. I have found the members of GC amongst the TOPS on internet forums. As perhaps I may have mentioned before. I am at times a very sensitive individual. I have at times actually made myself physically ill, due to dwelling upon so often some comment or other. Trust me. Life is too short to take such things on board.
No favouritism expressed or implied here but. Getting to know certain members via their posts, I have in my small world grown attached. Just as a few examples. You Amandii, I soon shall we say bonded with you, because I sensed some legal connection. My freind Colin, he and I have a history of engineering and mechanics, so we have always got a talking point. Shiney & his Dear wife. I really do admire them. No person could ever say. They have hidden their light under a bushel. Shiney IMO is well educated, and is very active in the community. I take my hat off to him and Mrs. S.

We must remember. Chatting or whatever you wish to call it, here on line is so very different to sitting in the snug or entertaining frinds at home. The latter, you can observe the facial expressions of others. Ooops! that comment didn't go down well with Charlie's missus. On line, we can't see the responces, so we type a reply. Sadly not always are replies etc read in the intended lite. PLEASE Please members. Continue to share in the forums here on GC. Please slow down and don't let yourself become aggitated etc. I usually simply say. SORRY, be I or the other party be in the wrong.

How was I disrespectful? You do keep repeating the statistics thing as if it validates your argument further. It's just lazy thinking, feeble argumentation and doesn't befit a person of your evident high intelligence IMHO. We can agree to disagree but that is my perspective and you should reciprocate my respect for your POV just as I respect yours.

You didn't answer this part of my post.

I don't know how else to explain it. I challenge people BECAUSE I respect and value them. I'm probably an outlier in that sense. I DON'T challenge Communists and White Supremacists on their worldview and political ideology because their worldviews are utterly absurd! Hope these political examples demonstrate my point. I'm done with this conversation and find your posts invaluable and interesting Shiney, but I revere NO ONE due to popular opinion.

        Nick

@Nikolaos I didn't respond earlier regarding you calling me childish because you disagreed with me and perhaps. I turned the other cheek but this last post is being rude and insulting to lots of members.

          Chill!

@CanadianLori I don't think you're in the least bit "childish" Lori. You are entitled to your opinion but reading things into my posts I haven't actually said. I may be a tad sarcastic but it's just me being daft, no spite behind it. I'm perfectly relaxed TBH. Not sure how I'm being "rude and insulting to lots of members".

Nick my friend, and I mean that. Please, please drop this debate. Even perhaps being a respected member of GC having Dr before my name and a letters following. Nick, my dear friend. Please. Drop this. Truly mate. OK you have feelings etc, but. This has now become a subject of interest from the membership. Please Nick, trust me. The further this goes, the muckier it will get. Please mate. Drop it. Your friend Mike.

You know, reading through the papers and news sites today it makes me feel slightly better about how the UK have dealt with Brexit. Not the political dialogue, that's a well accepted shambles, but how the public haven't [yet] taken to violence over it. No-one's been shot, no shops or cars burned out, no civil disorder at all; just some nice peaceful rallies. How very British.

With all due respect, one thing we do not allow is members making personal attacks on other members as that breaches the Rules and Protocols of Gardeners Corner. This has been a very controversial thread and so far we have managed to keep the conversation within the bounds of civility. If we disagree over a point of view then please let's disagree to disagree and respect each other's point of view without losing that respect for each other. As I have said before, before we post on a subject, think and think again and if we think the post might be construed as offensive to any degree.......then don't post.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

                    Hi,

Well said Mike. We can all huff and puff about what's happening in politics and the media but as I've said a number of times I seldom get drawn into religion or politics because both subjects are volatile; religion to me is gang warfare and politics about power; same difference. Yes we have a great deal in common Mike with our backgrounds and what a shame you aren't our neighbour because we'd be the best of chums helping each other.

Why get so upset about things we have no control over; surely our own personal lives should be more interesting and to concentrate on. How much is this Brexit costing us as a nation; the money could be put to better use like looking after the elderly or what about helping the poor souls flooded out of homes and businesses.

Brexit is a joke as is our government; I'm out of it finding learning TIG welding to be much more enjoyable and I'm unlikely to cause any offence whilst in my workshop. We need a trustworthy government and media who don't seek out trouble.

I'm a member of a number of Internet forums but this forum is the friendliest please let's keep it so.

Absolutely no offence intended or inferred to anyone; life could be so good if everyone rubbed along together.

                    Kind regards, Colin.

I'm using planets resources so no doubt even working in my workshop minding my own business is sure to upset someone; politics; no thanks it's boring now TIG welding is definitely interesting at least to me.

Farage isn't fielding candidates against tories so that should help get brexit across the line at least...

Well, that's a major move by Farage as he was saying if he didn't get a deal with the Conservatives he would field candidates against them. Do you think it's a recognition that by fielding candidates against the Conservatives he could damage the present Brexit deal, or it's cheaper to do so because his funds are limited, or both??

TBH I can't work Farage out. I don;t think he has any ambition to lead the country, he just seems intent on us exiting the EU by any means. I think this is his backup plan should the tories only have a small or no majority. He'll proffer his hand to get brexit complete then head up the trade talks and leave. It's very good for the blues and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the way it was planned at their meeting not so long ago, unofficial in every respect of course...

It's killed Labour anyway so JC will be off to the glue factory soon enough.

That's a useful skill to have - especially if you run an older car where the rust bug has taken over.

There won't be any riots about Brexit yet - there will be if it doesn't go ahead - IMHO.
