    So should Donald Tusk.

As to the whole of America going crazy about the Russians meddling in the election, I think its only the Democrats saying that, the losing ones.

Then we get the Russians meddling in the EU referendum, but I only think its the remainers saying that, the losing side.

    Think I'm seeing a bit of a pattern developing?;)

If you dont like the outcome, blame Russia.

      I think we all do.
I'm on virgin cable and as far as I know its only fibre to the connections in the road it then goes to copper after that.

My beef about broadband is Wi Fi, mines absolutely useless, doesn't matter what speed they say they have in the cables, the Wi Fi is only a bit better than dial up was 15 yrs ago.

@pete as you are on Virgin cable, their routers are absolutely garbage - the best bet is to put their 'SuperHub' into modem only mode, and then buy your own separate router which you connect to the superhub (via ethernet) and then let your own router take care of the WiFi

I have exactly that as my set up and I get anything up to around 210mb on WiFi - here is a test done just now:

And that's the problem, pete, as even if the "super fast" fibre is connected to a House with a copper system then it's a waste of time as nothing changes. What is needed is a complete change to an internal fibre connection being installed into the House.............and that ain't going to happen!

I have Wi-Fi available but, to be honest, I don't think it's secure and I know of a case of a certain person actually using his next door neighbours Wi Fi for free.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

That neighbour hasn't set his router up correctly then - if you don't apply the security at the point of set up, then the WiFi is there for any and all to use

I think we have been here before FC, I bought a new router but after about 25 attempts to get it to connect to the Virgin hub, I gave up.

I've since had Virgin install a new hub, but basically its more of the same.

Have you, or a VM engineer, tested your speed on a wired connection @pete?

Not down here, to many tree's! :heehee: there was Wi-fi in the nearest village then there was a fall out with the two companys and that finish it, but 4mbps isn't too bad as some people I know who live near big towns and closer to better broadband and they are getting slower speed than me, when I say 4mbps and they only get half to 1mbps I get a bad look as they know where I live and they thought it should be worst than theirs  so i'm not to worried but we do get lots of breaks in the lines with heavy traffic using the ditches :th scifD36: and the hedge trimers chewing the cables ;)

Agreed, but this particular person was a cunning animal who took advantage of an ignorant and friendly neighbour.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

For a cable connection, that is dire to be honest @pete - - it will of course depend also on the network card in your laptop/PC (some of them are really poor). It actually might be worth you trying something like this wee fellow - https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL...&qid=1573915823&sprefix=usb+wi,aps,150&sr=8-5

It just plugs into a USB port on the laptop and if it is the case that the inbuilt one is a bit rubbish, this should make some improvement

We're just over a mile from the fibre box which makes our connection a bit rubbish! Our telephone is still, in theory, on a shared line but they have split it digitally. Previously we were unable to use our phone if the neighbour was on a call! When I was a lad! :heehee:

You had a phone when you was a lad???

Can remember either walking about half a mile to a phone box or going with a tanner in my hand to ask a neighbour if I could use their phone.
You could tell who had one by the wire from the pole going to their house.
