I'm keeping out of the way whilst Mrs Shiney has a few friends round for tea. I served the tea and cakes but they have much too loud voices for my delicate ears - and there's only three of them!

I spent a good deal of time today in a revolving door. Well, it felt that way. I had to work through getting my Kobo set up and then read or watched many misleading You tube videos on how to connect to the library and download books. Finally just muddled my way through using a geek site. Now I have the library in my hands. All set for winter!

Got out my Christmas cookie recipe binder and figured out what supplies I will need to buy. I make several trays of cookies for family and friends and I wouldn't want to let them down this year :)

Ate more little chocolate bars... Halloween leftovers. Don't like throwing away leftovers

Had a busy day yesterday at my Dad's, didn't even get out to do any of his garden either. All his new equipment arrived from Occupational. Therapy and now we're all Zimmered out!! Zimmer frame for garden, one for carrying things around the house, one for walking only , two perch chairs, shower chair ...he's been in denial for years but has now finally agreed to them at the age of 94!! Stairlift people are coming out next week too....strike while the irons hot!!!;)

Ordered him a new microwave yesterday ,that should come this morning so have to go over and sort that out for him later.:dbgrtmb:

He's adamant about remaining at home but had refused to recognise that he needed aid equipment to safely do so...until now. He had a recent fall and that finally made him face reality. At last...phew!!!:)

Couldn't survive without being logged on to our County Library @CanadianLori especially during the winter months. I can easily read two books a week as we don't watch tv much . I can also download magazines for free too. My Dad's Orchid was looking a bit sad so I was able to download a book about Orchid Care within seconds. So very handy!:)

                Thanks @Logan,:fingers crossed:
Sorted out his new microwave yesterday.
He has Wilshire Farm Foods so only needs it for reheating. His old one was getting temperamental and wouldn't always revolve round .
I also attached some additional cords to his blinds to make them easier for him to reach.

Just the stair lift to go and then hopefully he is all sorted!:dbgrtmb:.......for now!;)

That's great @Upsydaisy hope that he gets on well, microwaves and stair lifts are a godsend for people like your father and disabled. Keith has ready meals because of his MS. When i go round on a Saturday afternoon i make my own coffee because he can't lift the kettle anymore and I'm worried that he might scold himself. Not when i was there some other time he managed to burn his leg. He was pouring a mug of boiling water into the sink and missed the sink and it went on his leg. His carer that comes during the day sorted him out, she doesn't live far and she checks on him in the day.

Hmm....well I replaced his old microwave with a new very basic one..just one knob, just had a phone call saying he woke up at 3am worrying about it even though I had showed him how to use it and so I'm off to supervise him using it..but have told him I am NOT doing it!!
                    Love him to bits but..:wallbanging:

Been in the kitchen for most of the morning making soy candles.

We have a lot of vintage china that we used to hire out but stopped as it took up lots of time for little return. We decided to make the tea cups into candles and sell on as gifts.

This morning Ive made Lemon Chiffon (smells like lemon cheesecake), Amelie Mae (Floral) and Spiced Orange. The house now smells amazing !

Theres method in my madness. I want to convert the room that the china takes up in to a growing room to set plants off in the winter under grow lights.

In Blue Peter style, heres one I made earlier

I cant take the credit. My wife is the creative one. Just putting an order through for more supplies. 22kg of wax plus the fragrances etc

Edit: They are dead easy to make. 4candles website has all that you need and the fragrances are amazing !
