Shiney. I have my own BP monitor plus other clinical odds and sods. I also kept a months record for my GP. At first he had me take my meter to the surgery, he checked it against his. All was OK. We both had a laugh though. At a previous consultation, he took my BP. Mike, Mike, finger clicking before my eyes.
    Now what's up, says I.
    Mike. You have no BP!!!!
    So his meter was faulty....laugh.
Due to my spineal problems, especially my C spine. I sometimes get really bad headaches. Question is. Is it my BP or is it my spine. So I will set myself up and sit for a while. Then I will take three BP readings. Usually these readings will settle within what is termed the normal area. So my diganosis is. It's not hypertension.

I am sure Mrs. Shiney will agree. Our BP is changing all the time. YES there is time to worry. If we exert ourselves, then a reading will be perhaps high.
Women are perhaps the most interesting patients for the GP. Cardiologist and Haemotologist. A woman's internal functions are changing all the time. During a woman's menstual cycle the BP reading can be like a pinball machine.

So friends. If you have a BP machine, and please note. These machines also record your pulse rate/heart beat. If need be have a chat with your GP. Get to know and understand what the numbers mean. In short. Constant high numbers. Get yourself checked out.

Spent the whole day in town yesterday with a long lost friend who I lost contact with 20 yrs ago. House moves and life in general caused us to lose contact details of each other but by chance we bumped into each other a fortnight ago and now she lives just off our lane , literally a 5min walk away....what a coincidence!!!

The Xmas market opened last week and runs right through the pedestrian centre of Southampton ,it was so atmospheric!!!

We enjoyed numerous coffee and cake stops and a lovely lunch in on of the many restaurants in the huge shopping complex.
My jaw still aches from talking and laughing so much!:)

Today we have an appointment in Winchester but sadly we won't have time to explore their Christmas Market as I want to fit in an afternoon in my Dad's garden too.

Have to agree John. I will be 80 come the 28th Dec. In myself, I feel OK. It all started with me taking a pee. Hells bells, I was peeing blood. Wonder I didn't pass out. As a traffic cop, I always had problems with blood, and more so, if it was mine. So I became aware that any loss of the claret needed urgent care and treatment. So the journey began. GP. Hospital, Urology, Yes Mr Allen you have bladder cancer. Not to worry it's treatable. Bloody hell. I felt as though I'd been slapped in the face by a kipper. This was 2014. Since then I have had operations and follow ups. Then something went astray. Medical notes got lost. An internal enquiry is taking place. I have now been sent to Guy's Hosp. London. Truly I have lost count of the operations, each time the cancer has come back. Modesty has long gone, guys and lasses have handled my hows yer father.. Who cares. Now at Guy's hosp. I am planted in a new garden. Care for the older persons. I am now considered to be a...............................A geriatric. I always thought these to be of the ghar ghar class. Never mind. This program has caused me to have an echocardiogram. Now I have a heat problem. Due to my age. I might if I have a fall, be a victim of osteoporosis, so I am due for a bone scan.

This is great. Hey guys. I feel good. Friends are convinced I am not as old as I say. I am not puffed out. Even after a few tipples, I am not falling arse over apex. Medics. I am 80 yrs of age. The good book says a mans life span is 70 yrs. So I am living on borrowed time. Thanks for the intrest but please. I am not a med school specimem. I am me. I am still here. How come you have never asked my permission to take over my life.

Set up my new laptop and felt very smug  I'm years behind times when it comes to technology, my phone has actual buttons and no inter-net :heehee:

But even I was able to follow the set up instructions which were written, and to make it very clear, also illustrated.

              • Plug the power cable into your laptop.
              • Connect it to electricity.
              • Press the on/off button.
              • Done!
And here I am, wwrrooming away with huge speeds. It's a long way since I set up my first computer, that involved inserting 10 disks in order and typing in DOS to start the installation for each disk.

Now it's just the hassle of transferring photos and other thingabobbies over and getting used to a different look. And Italian keyboard, this was the only one I found with a disk drive. Yes, I watch actual DVDs and listen to my old CDs.
