Think I'll just continue to use Sir and Ma'am as I see fit if it's all the same. I'll assume your gender and if you happen to be assuming an alternate yourself then it won't be an issue as it is unlikely we'll be interacting. By all means take offence if my polite and conventional terms of reference upset you, it shall not in any way prejudice my opinion of you!

I find the whole thing absurd and an invention of bored people.

[this isn't aimed at anyone in particular by the way, in case anyone felt that way after reading the post]

Banks. Why have they over complicated everything?!?! I appreciate the need for a bit of security but I tried setting up a standing order and my account was blocked. Call them and made to wait before getting cut off twice. Called the fraud line and they gave me an automated bank balance!
Why the block? No reason at all...
I really spit the dummy at the poor bugger in the call centre (did apologise) and have amused myself by sending 20ish complaints :) Oh, you can only do that while logged in too...

Looking through the December edition of The Plant Review (was The Plantsman until a couple of months back) I discovered the taxonomists have struck again and Rosmarinus officinalis has now become Salvia rosmarinus and that Perovskias have also been moved to Salvia.
Only just got over some Asters being moved to Symphyotrichum and Schizostylis becoming Hesperantha.

Tesco Sainsbury's and Morrisons fuel deals: AA research on likelihood of benefitting | Personal Finance | Finance | Express.co.uk

Today, the topic of supermarket deals on fuel was discussed on BBC Breakfast.

It came following an AA survey of nearly 18,000 drivers found that more than one in five (22 percent) of those in the lowest socio-economic group said they are “very unlikely” to spend at least £40 in a single supermarket trip.

I never spend over £60 on shopping at Tesco, but simply take a wander downwind in their car parks, picking up 10p off per litre vouchers.

Some people can't be bothered spending a few minutes to save around £5

Well I'd like to get away with spending less than £40 on a supermarket trip, what are they living on?
I spend at least £90 on my main shop.

@NigelJ and what is worse is if one doesn't remember which company supplied seeds for a beautiful begonia I grew last year and now after receiving three new catalogues, I still haven't seen them listed.

We give the fuel vouchers we receive at the checkout away. I can't use supermarket fuel as it messes up my engine.

I read basically the same information in, 'The Garden' The RHS monthly journal. I used to get the Plantsman until recently, and then decided enough was enough, when it comes to buying all these publications.

How individuals may feel, when after years of recognizing a plant by a local name plus the international one. Then to be informed that it's all change, namewise.

I seem to remember some years back there being name and classification changes of this nature. As I recall, the horticultural public weren't very amused. Who can say. Perhaps one day we will witness a new plant encyclopedea being published with, following the general name of the plant, line upon line of previous identities. For me. It's either a live plant or a dead one.
