The Conservatives are reporting Channel 4 to Ofcom for being provocative and biased by putting the ice block in their place. :noidea: I suppose I would do the same in the same position - but it was a good laugh :heehee:

Whingeing scroats. It's pretty clear that bojo is ducking debates and interviews which is going to dent his numbers to some extent. I think he should do the Andrew Neil interview as soon as possible to get the horror out of the way and put well behind him come the 12th.
I get why - he's truly awful in debates and interviews - but he still needs to play the game. I want the entertainment!

Boris was on a phone in on LBC this morning. Did I listen to it? No, as I had more important things to do, such as gardening.

I think it's up to any Leader to choose what interviews they do and what they don't:dunno:The Conservatives official line is that that they didn't want Boris to appear along with the SNP who couldn't really comment on what was being the main thrust of the interview. Also don't I think any Leader has to jump the Media Circus hurdles just to please the Journalists.
Let's face it, nearly all of today's Journalists aren't interested in what matters to the Country and it's politics, they're interested in making a name for themselves like Sharks in a feeding frenzy. I see them strutting themselves like Peacocks, on such programs as Brexitcast, as more being intellectually able and intelligent than the British People, not interested in the truth but only in the negative things that they can use to undermine the Political Leaders. I think if any of us were being interviewed by Journalists using the negative and arrogant method that seems to be the fashion of the Brexit interviews, then they wouldn't be exiting by the door but by the window.
I'm all in favour of not letting the Politicians get away with waffle in order to dodge giving direct answers to the questions being asked, but Journalists seem to be regarding themselves as Demi-Gods enjoying their moment of power that they think Brexit has given them.

I've lost my respect for the Politicians after their behaviour during the last nearly four years, and certain Media Journalists behaving more like churlish interrogators, while looking not for the truth but ways to look powerful and so saying, in reality, look at me, look at me, it's not about Brexit, it's about me.

The entertainment, for me, went out of Brexit six months after it began:dunno: I just want the truth, not the wholesale negativeness that is prevailing, the General Election over, a Conservative Government with a good working majority.........and Brexit completed.
I've lost all respect for Politicians in the way they have behaved in the last nearly 4 years, but more so for certain Media Journalists who have behaved in a similar fashion looking for scandals and in interviews speaking always in negative lines while speaking to people as though they were beneath the standing of the interviewer in their bid to further their Journalistic career.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

My voting has just been made even easier. I have just received the election leaflet for our Labour candidate. About two years ago our candidate supported another member who was told off by the Party for antisemitic statements and, I understand, was listed in the 'dirty dozen' Labour antisemites.

That person has since been welcomed back into the fold and was seen sitting with Corbyn and our candidate. Our candidate has since made a qualified (said part of it was out of context :noidea:) apology for backing up what that person had said and said that they condemn antisemitism.

Ah the quantity of trees planted. That's me sold!

I had a 'discussion' with the wife the other day about a friend who has signed up to the green party (new found hobby); I said she had a better chance of effecting change in green policy and the environment with other parties and especially the one that win the election. There was much disagreement poured forth (why do I hate the environment, of course the green party are important etc) until I pointed out simply that you can only effect real change if you're a part of the government in power to effect that change. It's not going to be the Greens! I got a 'hmf' so taking it as a win.

They were the thing to have a few years ago, totally sustainable fuel, so very green.:yay:

Now lots of people have them, they cause pollution and greenhouse gasses, so you should be ashamed of yourself.:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The way that the Labour party have dealt with the antisemitism issue has been quite astounding to be honest. I would be the first to admit that I don't understand antisemitism, or indeed any sort of 'ism' that is based on someones race or skin colour etc, but it is as clear as day that there is a real problem in the Labour party and they have not dealt with it. Anyone in the party who attempts to say that they are against intolerance whilst remaining in the party are guilty of that very same intolerance by association. Lie with dogs you catch fleas.

OK! in the past election touting has always carried with it, many promises and expectations that were nothing but 'high hope' and utter fantasies. Perhaps since WW2 folk were pleased to hear and somewhat automatically swallowed all the lies and fairy stories. Now decades on. What do we see. Basically much of the same. These neighbours, members of society etc, think they can put the world to right. Perhaps also the salary might possibly play some instumental part in the matter.
Thanks in part to previous governments, education has developed. 'Look mum, I can do real writing and join all my letters together look. Thecatsatonthemanthowsthat? Uni students now have the education and understanding that perhaps fifty years ago, only the Profs had.

So now we have all kinds taking up the call to become part of the next government. Time and again many of us have perhaps scorned the press and the media. However especially recently. Many reporters provide us with a much clearer resume' of what's going on, who said what etc.

At one time certain standards were expected of those in power. I won't point the finger but. All the dirt digging that now goes on. Yes you may well ask.

Bring back Alf Garnet. At least we could all have a laugh!!!!!!!!!!

                              Yes

No difference from dirty diesel boilers or gas boilers, but diesel and gas boilers need elecy to pump the water around a log burner doesn't  so better :yes:and when we used to have lots of power cuts (1-2 a mouth) we still had warmth and even cook on it if we had to and other people were cold and couldn't cook a meal so it's good :yahoo:

Not ashamed as we recycle all our own wood from the garden tis green ;)
