I don't have time to wash my hair every day because it takes 3 hours to dry. Like an old wool blanket. A shower cap comes into play because I cannot imagine going a day without a shower!

Today is a hair day and a work day. Let it dry whilst swinging a seven pound iron around. :)

I've got the clothes washing started as well. Lots of running up and down the stairs as I work on the second floor and the washer is down in the cellar.

Then when I'm finished the pressing work, I'm going to be vacuuming the second floor.

Started off the day walking the hounds. It was nice to walk on solid ground for a change. The scenery was stunning at sunrise with everything covered in frost.

Kicked off a sourdough starter - don't know why but I binned my last starter.

Opened the drain on the hot tub and kicked off a beer for Christmas. We have family over this year so thought it would be good to have a decent traditional English ale on tap. My normal brew would be an IPA so it was nice to smell the malt and traditional hops for a change.

Pricked out another tray of aeonium seedlings.

Set about cleaning the outbuilding. After a good hoover I set about the anti slip mats, rug and hard floor with the carpet shampoo machine. Its amazing how much muck the dogs bring in on their paws and coats. The dirty water was like hairy soup although I had no intentions of eating it.

Then cooled the beer (tap water running through a copper coil) and sent the hot water to the hot tub as part of the refilling. This means that I don't waste the cooling water and the warm water goes some way to getting the tub up to temperature.

Popped to the tunnel and planted on some cannas and yuccas.

Tub treated, beer tucked up in the warm. Day over

I drove to Nantwich in Cheshire today to visit some Market Trader (Plants) friends to have a chat and catch up and then ordering 7 Christmas Wreaths from them which they hand make. I'll be driving back there in two weeks time when the Wreaths will be ready. After visiting my friends I drove to Sandbach to pick up 20 kilos of Bird Seed and 2 kilos of loose fish food and then through Middlewich. I was amazed during that trip to see how many hundreds of Houses are being built on what was green fields, but also on a 200 hundred acre site which used to be a hazardous Chemical Processing site.......they obviously won't be telling the people buying Houses on the site about it's previous use. The temperature was just above freezing and you would see moisture dripping from hedges etc, but here and there was some ice on the road.
On getting home I discovered that I'd had 5 parcels delivered, a Gustbuster Brolly, 3 "Golden Lotus" Hellebores (which I ordered in the early Summer!), a 6000 lumen bright Torch, 3 middle sized ceramic pots in two parcels, so it felt a little like Christmas:heehee:

Washed my hair, walk the boys, so nice to do that without getting wet everytime.
I don't really know because i get a lot of headaches, always have. But i always wash my hair at about 12 noon and make sure that it's dry, but i always wear a hat just in case. After last winter it took me ages to give up my hat.

Went to see Keith as usual, he's doing well. He's got a order for a lot of Christmas cards so I'm going to help him. He gave me a lot of craft paper so i can make my own but won't get much chance while I'm helping him.
Also going to start my Christmas foods to put in the freezer.
Monday going to make the first lot of mince pies to eat now.

At 3.15 this afternoon we were eating our dinner. Looked out at the hedgehog feeding station and there was a small hedgehog eating and it was still light. I kept on watching it and he was wobbly when he was walking. So we took him to someone who takes in hedgehogs and nurses them back to health. It was 6 miles away in Warwick.

So did mine. Our sons are happy to see (so far:fingers crossed:) that they don't take after their father.:heehee: Hubs was thinning out nicely when we met when he was in his middle 20s, our 3 sons are all in their 30s and still have thick heads of hair.:)

Wow! That's alot!! Do you have all the family around at Christmas?
I will probably end up doing a couple of dozen as our sons will be down, 2 for Christmas day and Boxing Day and the 27th and then the other one and his girlfriend are coming for New Year for a couple of days and during this time ( no date as yet) we also have my Dad, sisters, brother ,nieces and their families over too. Hmmm may also have to buy a couple of pkts too I think.

@Logan What is in those kind of pies please?

I had to get some work done today. Finished 4 silk panels, a roman shade and two designer toss cushions.

Then went to a furniture sale. I've had my eye on a new dining room table for about a year now and it just got marked down to my budget range. It's ordered. A large trestle table that expands to 108" long. Now I don't have to hobble two tables together for family dinners. And because it is a trestle with no legs hampering chair placement, I can really cram them in there! I think it is wide enough to put two granddaughters at the end too :)
