As far as I can make out it's a duplicate of the last one - labour start badly and up their game but still won;t win and the blues start well, rest on their laurels with their heads in the sand and give away the massive lead they had.

              Hi,

The tories are simply asset strippers flogging off anything of value.

People have short memories but I well remember Thatcher with the three day working week; half the country on strike; mortgage interest rate at 15%. Thatcher also removed our mortgage interest relief and my married man's allowance; the tories under Thatcher also virtually gave away council houses now they like idiots are wanting to build more council houses; sorry social housing and who is to pay for these. The really sad part is there isn't a party worth voting for and as to Brexit I've never known such a shambles; our governments should be ashamed of themselves.

              Just saying.

              Kind regards, Colin.

It's the constant cycle - red spend like it's a bottomless pit, make and don;t keep promises and get replaced by the blues. They have to make cuts (now called austerity measures) to correct the books, people get fed up, blues make and don;t keep promises and get replaced by the reds...

Each party has some good policies and frankly they would benefit from admitting as such and outright nicking the best ones! That said, this time round the reds are making some VERY wild claims and promises that they in no way (nor would anyone) will be able to realise and the blues appear a one trick pony

I'm getting fed up with constant promises from all parties, every day, virtually, they all come out with some new idea they dreamt up the night before, and mostly with no real idea how they will pay for it.
Well we will pay for it, but that is if it is even possible?

Of all of them Labour seem to be promising the most, everything will be free, but I dont think I, personally, will benefit from any of their cranky ideas.

Free broadband maybe, is that a pig I just saw fly by?
No it was Jeremy Corbyn on angels wings.

A decade ago I was a member of my local Parish Council, there was no political talk but I'm sure we all voted differently.

I had a good friend who was a member of the nearby Parish Council, he was a true Red voter. I asked him if a Tory member came up with a good idea for their village would Labour support this idea, he said no way.........so there you go

Seems about right :( screw the country and making it a fantastic place, if the opposition came up with the idea then it has to be bad.

I think the reds are chasing the young vote Pete, see what they're whining about and promise them the earth. For free. No money, you don't ever have to worry about cash again... Just vote jezza!

I'm not saying the young are all totally gullible, but I do tend to think they are more likely to be swayed by this tactic, especially as they have perhaps not seen it all before and dont look at it a sceptically as maybe they should.

Probably why Labour wanted 16 yr olds to be given the vote.

That was Ted Heath! Three-Day Week - Wikipedia

"In the 1970s most of the UK's electricity was produced by coal-burning power stations.[6] To reduce electricity consumption, and thus conserve coal stocks, the Conservative prime minister, Edward Heath, announced a number of measures on 13 December 1973, including the Three-Day Work Order, which came into force at midnight on 31 December. Commercial consumption of electricity would be limited to three consecutive days each week"

And don't forget Tony Blair and the dossier of lies that led to the Iraq war.

Plus Jo Swinson voting to raise uni fees contrary to her party's promise not to do so, plus supporting virtually every other cut, just where do they stand on those cuts now, or anything else?

                            Can't trust any of them.

The Labour government under Tony Blair did away with the married persons allowance in 2000 [1] and Labour also abolished MIRAS (Mortgage interest relief) Mortgage interest relief at source - Wikipedia

[1] And the Conservatives have reintroduced it, starting with 2015 - 2016
