I'm impressed! The GE hasn't even taken place yet, let alone Brexit 'getting done' , and you've gone back to pounds, ounces and probably farthings already! :-))

It states on the polling card that you do not need to take it, but it will reduce queuing if you do.
So you can actually vote if you want to.

True but I took the absence of a card to mean I'm not registered as only registered voters get them. It's too bloody hard to get an answer as to whether we're registered or not!

If you go along surely they will know or not?
I have a mate in a similar position, recently moved, he's going to try it and see what they say.

Actually, noisette,:ideaIPB::love30: that's not a bad idea:dunno::heehee: When we abandoned 240 pence to the Pound and went metric to 100 pence to the Pound the cost of living shot up drastically:wallbanging::hate-shocked:

My favour was the thrupenny bit, along with the silver sixpence which my Granpa used to put in the Christmas Pudding that he used to make.:hapydancsmil:

I always take mine, but then I have a brown label, with my name and address on it, tied to my Jacket lapel:dunno::old:
I can't say that there's ever been a queue when I voted at the local Polling Station.

Well, there were more of those to the pound as well, Pete, when we were using Imperial as a measurement.:hate-shocked::dunno::heehee:

Never been a queue with me either, infact the people there usually look totally under worked.

I was thinking of taking that kind of thing up as a permanent profession;)

Well, they're on at least a 18 hour shift, arriving at 6am and leaving past midnight. They also aren't allowed to leave the building or pass on any information during the voting period.:hate-shocked::dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

I remember :-) But do you think the COL would go back down? In my experience, change only ever results in life becoming even more expensive.

Agreed, noisette, but the rise in the cost of living become really high when you go from a 240 pence in the pound to a metric 100 pence to a pound because, effectively the pound was devalued by 50%:hate-shocked::dunno:. Price rises instead of rising by a old penny or two pence became a rise of 100% more with the metric system........and that can't be good.:dunno:
