Overcast and 18c but quite breezy ... NOT as forecast. Had to eat lunch indoors with friends! :frown:

That's because we don't get it every year and we don't have the equipment for the council in every country. :)

Sunny and now up to 27f. A bit of a treat for January but in week we'll be back to our regular scheduled winter :heehee:

@Retired the town must send out snow plows once we get 8" of accumulated snow. Usually the main roads get plowed first and then they work down to streets like mine. The most snow we've gotten in a 24 hour period this year so far is just over 6" so no plows running about on anything but the main streets/bus routes. It's normal to have two sets of wheels - one set with winter tyres and the all season for the rest of the year. So twice a year I have to get them changed out on my vehicles. Well worth it as the snows really make a difference.

Snow on high ground and frost on low ground but a lovely sunny, windless day, 1C/34F. Dusk has brought fog and it's currently -2C/28F. A chilly night ahead.

                Hi,

In Kirklees our local Huddersfield council Logan we don't even have rubble skips any longer at the tips because they can't afford them. :wallbanging:

Thanks Lori. 6" of snow here in the UK would be a disaster although here on the valley side we do get this occasionally then our neighbour at the head of the cul d sac digs us out with his JCB; we've got Michelin Cross Climate Tyres fitted to our Skoda Yeti in readiness; we actually fitted them for last winter so we only got a dusting of snow; perhaps this winter we can test them in anger?

                Kind regards, Colin.

Well, around here you can fit whatever tyres you like, if it snows you ain't going nowhere, even the 4x4 s just sit in the traffic jams.
Its just best to stay at home, biggest problem is jack knifed artics.;)

Very mild here at the moment, min of 9.5C last night and 12C today, but wet and miserable.

Good morning all clear sky and light wind temp 3 to 7c
                          Precipitation 4%
                          Sunrise 8.16
                          Sunset 16.17

We're off the main road so if we get snow they won't clear it,sometimes they might grit the off roads but only if it's really bad. They can't afford to keep vehicles standing around just incase we'll get snow. It maybe different up north because they get it more but not down here. :)

Lovely blue skies and sunny today....off for a day in my Dad's garden.

Nobody ever comes up our lane to do anything at all. It's ridiculous how unprepared we are and not forgetting the effects a little snow has on the wider workforce and the loss of revenue!!
Having a few ' standing around' would pay dividends I'm sure....even just one!!

I always carry a shovel in the car when it snows and i'm not afraid to use it even if i'm not out in the car I will clear snow here, even today I've been out clearing drain, colverts to let the flood water go

                              Every little helps

                                Hi,

A beautiful sunny but cold morning. Just returned from Leeds and the sun has been a real pain whilst driving; I like to see the sun but this morning it's been dangerous; I'm not used to it because I'm more used to my pet cloud Blackie accompanying me.

                                Kind regards, Colin.
