@shiney I expect to be fed as well though!

It's still pitch here so no idea whether it is cloudy or not. I could see snow falling on one of the CCT screens so I guess I will be shoveling today. But that will be after I go with my son and grandson to the doctors. Grandson needs his final booster shot and being autistic, he won't sit still for it so I will be one of the restrainers. Sad to have to do this but the shot is needed else he won't be allowed at school. Anti vaxxers haven't won here and good thing as polio and other nasty things are popping up again.

After that, I will be working. Need to make a little money and also keep busy. :)

Have a lovely day all and please play safe!

Morning to you @moyra and to all who drop by.:)

Yes the winds have been strong, hope everyone and their surroundings have come through it safely.

The winds are set to pick up again later today.

We just have to keep reminding ourselves that there are worst things happening in the world. Rain and strong winds are nothing in comparison!

                Enjoy you day.:)

                  Aloha everyone,

It's eerily calm out there at the moment but the forecast for this afternoon is 'stay at home'. I shan't be doing that as I have the bridge club to run this afternoon. I'll have to wait and see how many turn up. :noidea:

I think I'll put the bins out this morning whilst it's calm, for collection tomorrow, although the council say we shouldn't do it :nonofinger:. I have no intention on trying to trundle the bins all the way to the front in gales and pouring rain. As they won't be on council property I don't care what they say! :heehee:

My muddy gardening shoes need a clean as they're not doing out patio any good. I do miss someone cleaning them for me . Whilst we were on holiday and travelling up the river we all had to remove our shoes as we got off the gangplank. To go ashore we had to traipse fairly steeply uphill through a lot of sand (could be slightly muddy if you were not careful) and up steps to get to the road. All the places we visited were very dusty and sandy (dry season) so they took our shoes and cleaned them every day. Within the hour they were outside our door.

I'm not keen on taking my gardening shoes off when I reach the patio as it then means walking across, in this type of weather, a damp patio. It may sound easy to do but it's a pain in the proverbial to try and change my pressure stocking each time. It takes a lot of time and effort.

Keep well and have a great day

                  Aloha!

Hey there, that was a loonie I flipped! Hope he slips a chili in your stew!:heehee:

It's another dreary January day - cloudy and now we're back down in the teens - 18f

Taking a friend to the hospital for their physio session and before and after that time I will be having a marathon sewing session. I want to get the seat cushion covers (7) for this current job done today. My granddaughter is coming at the end of the month and I also want to get some other sewing done. I have fabric for another two twinsets, a pair of corduroy trousers, and a couple of tops that I'd like to get on with and also done before she gets here.

I hope I have a productive day and I hope everyone here has a super day and plays safe :)

Hi @Flumpy. Yes all back to normal and raring to go thanks.:dbgrtmb:

Spent the afternoon with my gorgeous, cheeky 2yr great nephew......what a character he is, came away with a face ache from laughing so much.

Weather has been foul here with torrential rain and very strong winds. Thankfully we're not cold down here, in fact I'm still wearing sleeveless T shirts and only adding a cardi in the evening.....so it's not all bad .

@CanadianLori .... you make me want to take up needlework again , I use to love making my own clothes back in the days before the children came along. Sadly now that I have the time there aren't any good haberdashery shops near us, the very last one closed down a couple of months ago. I know I can buy online but it's not the same as browsing through all the rolls of fabric.

@Upsydaisy I like to feel the hand and weight of a fabric before buying too although there are some things the local fabric shop doesn't have so I will take a chance and so far only been disappointed a few times. The colour has always been true but the weight, that is what can be a let down.Been working with french knits a bit and having fun. I had bought some new items before coming over there a few years ago and deeply regretted putting out the money for poor quality. At my age, something cheap really shows!

Exactly....it looks good but the feel can be like an old washed out rag!! Nothing let's down a garment more that the wrongly weighted fabric....stiff as an old board or as I said earlier as flimsy as a rag!!!

But I will definitely keep an eye open in future I think.:dbgrtmb:
