@Coachman don't be upset by limitations. I like forums because I want to read discussions and conversations not a screed or thesis. I think you'll agree that there are very few times of day that we gardeners have time to sit and read blogs, at least I don't. If I see a particularly long post, I'll most likely skip it for possible reading later unless it is a topic that gives details about growing. :)

Talking about reading, I did hear that Boris wrote an interesting book years ago and perhaps reading it might give me a better understanding of his way of thinking.

I do believe things will be exciting as long as he is at the top

That age old saying. Certainly is true. 'The Devil looks after his own'

We will probably still be saying the same until the kingdom comes. We get ourselves at times into a frenzy over such matters.

So Maggie had her faults. Teflon Tony....what an arse. Brown and all the others. Bless their tiny hearts. They meant well. ( the scheming lying lot of barstewards). Take a look at them now. Be honest. Is there a 'POOR' one amongst them?.....NO!

You and I are now simply portrayed as mere actors. Biblically it has been quoted. The world is but a stage.

So here we are, you and me. The play. OK! lets take a chance. Dickens. Oliver Twist. ''Please SIR! can I have some more?

When did you last hear that an MP had lost some of his/her benefits. Stop and take account. Even now. Who are you and me bowing and scraping to. My meercat friend says. Those past, present and future MP,s

I was watching Lord Dubs speech in the House of Lords and was very impressed with how he put things. It was a proposed amendment to the refugee bill (as set out in the Withdrawal Agreement) to allow children of UK residents the right to come here.

At the age of 87 his presentation was clear, well worded and given with expression and compassion. He is an excellent advocate of not using age as a criteria for removing someone from office.

I also heartily agree with the wording of his proposed amendment.

"Lord Dubs is trying to restore a protection, that's been removed in the EU Withdrawal Bill, to allow unaccompanied child migrants in the EU to come to the UK and be reunited with their families after Brexit.

The family reunification measure was originally known as the "Dubs amendment" after the Labour peer, Lord Dubs, who's trying to get it reinstated in the House of Lords.

The government insists it doesn't want to tie its hands in Brexit negotiations, and that there will be provisions for unaccompanied children in the upcoming immigration bill."

I think if the camera had been able to pull back you would have seen the SNP's feet doing the Two Step, Tango, Cha Chata, Rumba, all while he was sitting still but dancing.
He couldn't answer one question intelligently or definitively, which is typical of the SNP and also of the Corbyn Labour Party.
He said that the SNP don't want to use the Euro because they want to use the Pound. The truth of the matter is that an Independent Scotland would not meet the EU's criteria for being able to use the Euro until it got down to a 3% national deficit, while already near an 8% national deficit. Trying to use the Pound, not the Pound Sterling, would mean using the Bank of Scotland Pound which, alone, would not be worth a jot causing high inflation and loss of jobs..
They say they will not support the Nuclear Fleet, which as Andrew Neil points out would/could mean a loss of around 12000 jobs. The SNP man said they would then spend on other Scottish "defence" matters..............hard to do when trying to use a Scottish Pound that would have no financial backing and, consequently, value.
His answer that they would increase their economy by increasing the population would, as Andrew Neil pointed out, take years. It wouldn't make economic sense either because while trying to grow their population, by whatever means, they would also have to spend more to support the increased pressure on their NHS, (which is in a sorry state financially now), and also the Social Services.........all that using a Pound having to stand by itself and not in the Pound Sterling union.
The only thing such blinkered fanatical extremists would achieve is the downfall of Scotland, it's economy, and it's people.:coffee:

Well, he never came out with any facts or figures to contest/answer Andrew Neil's questions and either repeated a mantra or inexplicit vague sentences looking like a Schoolboy caught out by his Head Master.

Took him less than a minute to completely ignore AN question just to shoehorn in some vitriol against Westminster! But he was very clear about it...
