We had rain and high winds here in Hereford overnight.

The river reached a high of 6.18m at 8am this morning. It seems to be plateau-ing, but many homes in Hereford are flooded, and both road bridges across the river (which goes through the town) are closed. 60A5E599-439C-44A9-9CF6-554F4CC802EF.jpeg 71D0D5F6-E5CD-4A84-A4E9-4614D55C6FAA.jpeg

But the good news is that the rain has stopped for now, and the sun is trying to break through.
(Temp is 6c, and wind speeds 15-20mph, but that seems immaterial at the moment!)

Still dry here but getting greyer by the minute, rain is definitely on it's way. Still soggy and the 'stream ' is still running down our lane. It will probably run for quite a while now as we get the 'run off' from the surrounding hills.

Glad that everyone is safe, that's the main priority.:bigthumb:

Sunny intervals with occasional drizzle temp 9c feels like 6c. When the breeze dies down and the sun is out it's a pleasant day.

A bit of sunshine and blue skies with large black clumps of clouds seeming to go around my area. The temperature reached 50f making the Green House warmer, and the winds lightened, when I was do doing some potting up this afternoon. So today we've only had .9mm of rain although it is showering lightly now. The temperature is now 40f and the pressure reading is 990hpa.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Our local river, not as bad as some places, but around 15 ft higher than it should be.

Several shops today were closed due to flooding in the old part of town.

Well we ended up with really dark clouds this afternoon, so decided not to hang out the laundry. But then somehow they parted as they went over our house and the sky cleared!!
So out when the laundry and I carried on with some housework , unbeknown to me while I was so enjoying myself in this lovely task ( not!!;)) the heavens opened and my double spun laundry was ringing wet!!!:wallbanging:

                        Not happy!

I used to live in Worcester city and I've heard that it's really bad there. The area called powick can't get to and the only way to get to Malvern is on the motorway.

@Upsydaisy this time of year i never take a chance and hang the washing outside. I've got a clothes line in the garage and open the back door and the garage door to have a air flow.

Cloudy and dry here, and a steady 6c.

However, I’ve just seen the weather radar, and there’s heavy rain in Snowdonia - the Wye will respond here in around 10 hours....:cry3:

Hi @Logan , you can't even get across into St John's.
We've always said that instead of all the faffing about opening up a new Worcester Parkway station ( once again stuck out in the middle of the countryside like the hospital ) they should open a Worcester West station ( the lines already there, using the existing viaduct and high level bridge ) , then at least there'd be a way of getting into the city.
