I think you can tell the difference, lucius, because the Earthworms don't wear Snorkels and the Aquatic ones do.:dunno::heehee:

Well not technically in the garden this morning....took a builders sack of garden waste etc to the tip. Came back with a second hand composter from the recycle shop...£4 and hardly used! Bargain!

When I got back I took the composter up to my little lotty plot and dug away the gravel and put the new composter in it. I put the gravel back around it and a few bits in the composter itself....hope it doesn't blow away in this wind!

Got back in the front garden and dug out another huge rose and potted it. Also moved a load of sprouting hyacinths and other bulbs...hopefully they cope with being moved, but they'd get trampled on by the builders doing the fencing otherwise.

As we haven't had any rain since I can't remember when and none is forecast for the foreseeable future, the pots are bone dry to say the least. T'other Half is bored so he has gone out to water. He calls that "gardening"and that's the most he will do ... at a push! :love30:

My roses came this morning from Peter Beales, mainly replacements for ones I'd lost. Got them potted up just before another downpour. Just had enough MPC. Checked online only to find, Homebase are still showing JA Bowers MPC 60Lt bags as being on clearance, but they have put the price back up and also upped the cost of the 120Lt bales. Ache like hell now from stooping.

:rain: all day non stop, finally stopped around 9pm. I bought a pink Heather from hardware store two more pairs of gloves.

I'm celebrating tonight as Dimitris cat laid down on command for biccies tonight :yay::hapfeet:. He's a very slow learner, it's taken weeks and weeks of training and prompting but tonight he ' got it '. Probably have forgotten by morning so we'll have to keep at it.

It took two weeks for him to learn how to offer a paw, not sure why learning how to lie down is taking so much longer.:dunno:

That's great news, have you done this training before with cats?
I know sometimes with our dogs it takes a bit of time, but when they learnt it have to keep doing it so that they don't forget.

Yesterday sowed some parsnip seeds in the kitchen roll tubes, 24 tubes and do some more later.

Fed the birdies, rolled the aerator thingymajig over the front grass and then spread the moss killer granules etc over it. It’s had a heavy dose (hope I’ve not over done it). Seemed sensible to do it as the temperatures are forecast to be milder over the next few days.

We did a lot of clearing up, weeding, digging plants and potting up (for Open Day) and transferring of plants to other areas. One of the transplants was a Hydrangea paniculata 'Phantom' as it was being swamped by a faster growing 'Annabelle'. Hope it survives. :fingers crossed:
