The top trays don't look like any of the chilli plants I know :scratch:but the bottom trays do :dbgrtmb:

      :)
The bottom set were sown a few days before the top set. Hence they are up and showing the open seed leaves. The bottom set are the hotter chillies, with the “odd” cells filled with other sowings, so as not to waste space. The top set are the slightly milder chillies, and the seed leaves are starting to push through, but not opened up yet...

about to ask hubby to take a photo showing the labels - I normally note germination dates, but obviously won’t be able to this year....

Ooops sorry @noisette47 my bad - just searched the forum and now point the finger at @Sian in Belgium who recommended Anaheim, must get it right eventually !

Anyway they have germinated now and under my growlamps

I hope you like them, @JWK . I was delighted when hubby said that there are some Anaheim that have germinated... (it’s the Lombardo and Serrano that have not yet shown any signs). Apparently the labels are too faintly written to photograph....

Yep, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, my favourite super hot.

The potted seeds spent just over a month on top of the gas boiler before germinating.

I also have some token Turkish chillies elsewhere.

I've grown Moruga for many years. This is the first year I've given it a miss as I already have bhut jolokia, reaper and red hab in the super hots. I also used to grow 7 Pot yellow but I did it because yellow is one of my favourite colours :)

I've got a cross between Devil's Tongue and Chocolate Douglah that I'm hoping grows true to the peppers I picked last year.

So I have the above and Shiney hybrids which are growing in the cellar and will have to wait until May to come up. :)

Do you grow your super hots from collected seeds, CanadianLori?

I'd be interested to know if the Carolina Reaper is a stable strain or does it revert through the generations.

Oh heavens, I did it again. Forgot to mention my Ring of fire plants. They are only about 7k on the Scoville scale but I pick them when they are still green so as to add that colour to my hot pepper bread.

And I did bring up a couple of plants to the heated greenhouse because I needed the space for more seedlings downstairs.

Yes, the Reaper seems to stay true. I grow from collected seeds however once in awhile, I'll order fresh seed from the states.

                    P.s. I don't smoke but I love ashtrays. Fascinating things those :)

Mine have all been pricked out and moved on into the taller propogator. I'm going to have serious spacing issues before long; we were due to complete on a house around now, with a large sun room perfect for chillis, so I sowed far more plants and varieties in anticiption. That's now on indefinite hiatus, and there's not really anywhere appropriate for them in our current flat apart from the relatively small propogator :wallbanging: I'm trying to eek them out as long as I can in the hope that we'll be able to move asap once restrictions are lifted...

I've also noticed a few leaves looking a bit nibbled/spotty - any ideas what/who the culprit could be? Or is overcrowding already starting to cause me issues? :rolleyespink:

@2nd_bassoon that sure looks like chew marks. I have different biters than you so hopefully someone your side will chime in and give you an idea of what it could be.

The centre of the leaf in the second picture looks like whitefly. Turn the leaves over and look underneath - they especially prefer younger leaves. If it is then you are likely to have constant problems but can keep on top of it by wiping each leaf every day or so and/or washing them carefully. If you just consider it's a maintenance job of about 15 minutes each day then the plants should do alright. As they get older and can be put outside later in the year they won't be bothered so much.

Two of my babas, these are birds eye and need potting on. Please excuse the placing for the pic, everywhere I placed them in the kitchen needed either, a pan, bottle, glass, mess... moved! So the floor it was :)
I’ve already got chillies growing, about inch or more long, they are upstairs, I’d show you but my knees are having a rest. I’ll post more tomorrow :)

The biggest ones are growing nicely, looking a bit limp but I’ve just repotted and fed them. They’re from a cheap mixed seed packet, so don’t know the variety. At the bottom, jalapeño. Finally got some to germinate! It’s the 4th attempt!! All different packets of old seed, I really should buy new, but hate to be defeated :heehee:
I’d show you my lemon drops but they’re quite embarrassing, very leggy, even though they’ve been under growlights:dunno:
