    @Sheal ,..delighted you enjoyed the tour,..its a City that was really started by the Vikings yet it has a long Irish History since,..some Folklore as well like that Statue in the Garden of Remembrance its of the 'Children Of Lir ' who were supposedly changed into Swans by a wicked Stepmother the Statue shows the time of transformation to Swans.

    I agree with you about Councillors making decisions without consulting the people who live there,..i think its a case of them demonstrating that they have power,..without thought of anything else.

      @Upsydaisy ,..ah yes its a beautiful place,..its the historical buildings that make it appealing,..plus very little skyscrapers were allowed,..i head back there as i was born in Dublin,..we lived across the road from the National Botanical Gardens,..that's where my interest in gardening started.

            Apart from Gardening and just being outdoors in isolated places i love music,..what really captivates me is Flamenco Dancers and one in particular,..'Maria Pages',..as seen below.

            The music builds up higher at three levels to a really fast pace.

            Maria Pages 'Firedance',..5mins 37 secs long.

              Managed to post on the 9th,..then my Internet crashed until today,..mine comes through telephone lines so with storms and floods telegraph poles fell,..i was hoping to switch today to Fibre Optic but they let me down,..their next call would be March 10th,..needless to say i told them where to get off:pcthwack:

              Just like in many parts of the UK we also have floods,..where we had floodwater up to 1 Metre plus,..in the past few days its risen to 2 Metres plus and still rising,..doggy walks are very limited.

                  Then, surely, the people should demonstrate who has the power and vote them out in the next Council Election......or, as usual, am I being too naive.??:scratch::doh::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

                  It's good to see you back glengarry despite your problems. :) I should think the people living in that house are rather concerned, the water level isn't far off reaching them. :doh:

                    @ARMANDII ,

                    This year has shocked most of those in power from the top parties down to local councils,..two of our top parties for the past few decades finally got cut down to size and smaller parties got much higher votes,..hopefully they will fulfill promises made and be forced to change.

                      @Sheal ,

                      Hi Sheal and thank you,..i was looking across the water to that house today and the water has crossed to the wall in front of the house as the level is still rising and the promise of further rain i fear that house will be flooded.

                          I noticed that and it's about time the unhearing, too important to deal with local matters, got knocked back giving the real caring parties a chance.:love30::thumbsup:

                            Hi Victoria,..no hope of drying out for quite a spell longer but the Broadband is looking better,..the company i approached have completed all the paperwork so i should have Fibre 100mb pretty soon,..fingers crossed,..sorry to read you don't get Fibre though perhaps you have enough speed without it.

                              I did question that myself today and was surprised nothing to prevent flooding has started yet?,..despite hearing water pumps all over the area none to be seen near that house,..there is a big shopping center which had flooded back in 2015 and flood barriers were build,..( water in 2015 was a record high ) its looks like that record will be beaten.

                              However LIDL build a Supermarket in an area that floods and no flood barriers built to date,..perhaps they presumed that when built,.. barriers would follow in the near future,..anyway its touch and go for them to be flooded.
