    Thanks @CanadianLori :blue thumb:

With the spare mash you could mix in a little French wholegrain mustard to have as a side dish. Mustard mash goes quite well with a lot of dishes. :)

        Aloha everyone,

We have guests coming for dinner tomorrow evening. @CanadianLori I'm going to make a chicken casserole with mustard mash! :) Starter shall be smoked salmon with chopped new potatoes in turmeric mayonnaise and dessert shall be a choice of blackberry and apple crumble (home grown) and fresh fruits (mango and melon). Of course, they can have both if they wish.

Keep well and have a great day

        Aloha!

          Good day
@shiney YUM! It is very cold again this morning and looks to be grey skies as well. The winds are whipping the trees about. It's a good day to be inside. I am taking a friend to an appointment at a hospital a couple of towns away so most of my time will be sitting behind the wheel or sitting in waiting rooms. And out of the cold and wind :)

It will be boring because they no longer leave magazines lying around now the COVID has hit. I used to read them and use lots of hand sanitizer but now the option is gone.

Have a good day and please play safe :)

              Aloha everyone,

Dry and windy out there and we have had three power cuts since 4 a.m. As I couldn't use the computer or watch TV I decided to do the cooking - we have a gas cooker :blue thumb:. So the casserole is made, enough to feed a small army, and I decided to embellish the starter a bit.

Before working on the casserole I popped out to Tesco and, surprisingly, it wasn't busy at 4.30 a.m. :heehee: I've bought some asparagus and avocado to posh up the smoked salmon dish.

So I've now got the whole day in which to laze around - apart from seven phone calls and eleven emails to do. I guess I might get Sarafied sometime in between. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

Do you have gas lights or was it by candlelight?:what:

We used to have a gas light in the kitchen until we had a refit. Mrs Shiney decided she didn't like the look of it so it went.

I have an LED light that hangs up and that is good enough. :blue thumb:

                    Good morning all :spinning:

it’s just stopped raining here and now blue sky :dbgrtmb:, I’m going to have a root in my green house and start potting up my sweet pea seeds, I’m a little later this year, but they grow quite fast anyway.

As you know I work in a Chemist, yesterday management where handing out sanitizers each, Dettol wipes for wiping counters, door handles and other surfaces and masks are coming soon if this Coronavirus gets any worse, we get asylum seekers coming in our shop also people who have been travelling  so scary.

                    keep safe everyone x

                      Good day
@shiney sounds like a lovely meal coming up. I forgot to tell you that before I tried your mashed potato leftover recipe, my daughter in law was talking about trying to make potato cakes with the new waffle iron I bought them so the extra potatoes went home with her :)

@Flumpy I went to the pharmacy to pick up something yesterday. This pharmacy is located within a large supermarket and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why there were a couple of people wearing masks. It's hardly likely they're going to catch the virus from anyone in this store as I am not in a city center, the store is not on a public transit line where more people gather, and it wasn't busy in there. I've dealt with the same pharmacist for 20 years and even if he visited his parents homeland in China, I know he would be smart enough to self isolate. I'm guessing that wearing a mask will keep your own hands off your face and therefore help not stick the germs up your nose?
                      Total puzzler.

It is 7f but it looks very still out there. And seems to be fairly clear skies so it will be nice if it is a sunny day later on :)

Low time of use electric rates today so laundry, vacuuming and other high consumption tasks will happen today as it does every Saturday :)

Take care all and please play safe!

They said on the news that the surgical type masks don't offer much protection...but I think it's definitely better than being on the receiving end of somebody's sneeze!!

We ordered some 'hard' reusable face masks a couple of days ago.....just in case they become in short supply. When I say 'hard' I mean that they aren't the fabric type ones and they have multiple layered filters. Hopefully we won't have to use them...but...
