Country visit

Those sheep look nice and warm Woo. Thanks for sharing. It is as cloudy here today too and drizzled a bit, but we need some real rain.

 

Nice to see all those Sheep and dry land as well,..hope you enjoyed the day.

 

When farmers introduce a particular ram/tup to a flock (or a bull to a herd of cows) the male's chest is liberally anointed with a dye of a particular colour. As he mounts each female to 'do his business' the dye comes off on her to indicate a) that she should be pregnant and b) which male was the father. Knowing the dates the male was there, the expected birth date can be calculated. By introducing a different male, and using a different colour, the next set of offspring can be programmed.

Scheme not yet involved for human application.

I can remember that at the time of Chernobyl, I was about to wean our eldest onto cows milk....but delayed it for a good year as we were concerned about the effect on it.
