Agreed, that is 10 people out of 590 at the time of writing; we are still sub-1000 diagnoses out of a population of over 60 million. If we stopped all unnecessary travel etc now, we may well get to the summer and find that we have kept deaths at least in the hundreds - but we are not doing that, so why not?

I've just been watching Trump's latest news conference where he paraded over a dozen CEO's of different companies that will be involved in ramping the supply of test equipment and the testing. It was a case of people grabbing TV time to advertise their companies and, I still can't believe it, shaking hands with the President:doh::wallbanging: It showed that Trump and the White House still haven't the brains to recognise within their own group of leaders to realise the dangers of the Virus and carry out the simple protocols to protect the Leader of the USA and keep him at minimal risk from Covid 19. Do they think the President and his Staff are virus proof?:dunno::scratch: It was a publicly shown case on National TV broadcast of.....

They're basically following what is being proposed in the UK regarding drive in testing points, etc, so nothing radically different. But obviously Trump believes in numbers of people standing behind him while he tries to convince the USA and the World that he has everything under control.....Yeah, right!!!

I have today, on my day off, braved a journey (using a vehicle of public transport) to our local shopping centre. Whilst panic buying capers, charity shop books and garden fleece I noticed that all of the shops had large displays of toilet paper in their windows with "special buy" labels on them.

What is it with the toilet paper? Am I just not getting something here?

Sainsburys was something quite remarkable this evening - it was like a plague of locusts had descended on the place; no toilet roll whatsoever, people trying to buy tons of kitchen roll instead, but being curbed to maximum of 5 packs by staff, and loads of stuff out of stock or in short supply. Queues at the tills were worse than Christmas - just stupid.

On Mann anybody wishing to see a doctor with the suspected virus will not be allowed into the surgery. They are to phone in and someone will test them outside the surgery.

Italy on its kneecaps with this virus, and the European Court of Justice chose yesterday to fine the country 7.3 million Euros for subsidising the hotels industry in Sardinia, with a further 80,000 Euro penalty for each day that there is a delay in payment of the fine.

                    I fully expect Italexit next!

Thanks @glengarry23. :) Try the 'Free From' aisle for bread if you have one. Not quite the same taste but I've got used to it having recently switched to a wheat/gluten free diet. Shhh….don't tell anyone else or there'll be none left for me.

In the UK the advice is to stay at home and check 111 online - no need to test because the vast majority of us will have mild symptoms so it would be a waste of resources. Only if your symptoms get worse then call 111/999. I suppose the drive-in centres will appeal to the chavs who will combine it with a drive-in mcdonalds

Good checklist @Sheal - there really isn't much difference between the symptoms for Flu and Coronavirus.
