Corona Virus Treatment

Well I was in Wilkos three times this week, last was yesterday and the only thing they've run out of is Soap !
They're having pallets of toilet rolls delivered every morning and they're limited 2 per customer.

Went into Iceland also yesterday and got toilet rolls and a liquid palmolive soap .

Perhaps the people around here have a few more brain cells than some in the rest of the country.

 

I live on my own but dont think I could manage to do a one month shop, I tend to eat stuff that goes off and not that keen of freezing anything I can buy fresh, so I go once a week with a top up on beer and doughnuts mid week.

Frozen toilets rolls, mmmmmm nice.

 

You can still by fresh and batch bake....freezing is fine.
My sister lives on her own but often has family drop by and stay on for a meal. She buys meat once a month from her local butcher and has a good cooking session , her two freezers are jam packed with healthy home cooked meals.

As I said we do a weekly buy of fruit, veg and dairy produce, so yes of course they have a short shelf life. Fresh veg added to home cooked meals and quickly frozen will not loose any nutrients.
Hubs cooks and divides everything into two servings. We use the same rectangle containers for all cooked meals that stack neatly in our big indoor freezer.

I enjoyed cooking for all 5 of us when the kids were at home ..but just for two!!...no way, a lot of time and gas / electric for two small ( ish) meals..

We eat chicken, beef and fish all of which freeze very well , either fresh or cooked up first. We also eat more vegetarian meals nowadays too....which I love as I was a vegetarian before I married and would prefer to be so again but that would cause extra work for poor hubs!!

"People over 70 will be instructed by the government to stay in strict isolation at home or in care homes for four months, under a "wartime-style" mobilisation effort by the government likely to be enforced within the next 20 days.

It is part of a series of measures being prepared by the prime minister, health secretary, chief medical officer and chief scientific adviser to prevent the health service from "falling over" and to save lives as Covid-19 becomes an epidemic in the UK.

Other measures already being planned include:

• the forced requisitioning of hotels and other buildings as temporary hospitals;
• the requisitioning of private hospitals as emergency hospitals;
• temporary closure of pubs, bars and restaurants - some time after next weekend's ban on mass gatherings;
• emergency manufacture by several companies of respirators that would be necessary to keep alive those who become acutely ill;
• the closure of schools for perhaps a few weeks, but with skeleton staff kept on to provide childcare for key workers in the NHS and police."

Never go to public places, it's the people with underlying health problems that it's killing. My friend Keith has carers at mornings and evenings and they're trying to cut down how long that they help him.They told him to get family involved but he has no one near enough, only the daytime carer that can pop in to check how he's doing, but that's not enough she's got her own family as well.

Yes more people are dying from flu, but it's the way that this virus is going through populations and it returns when people have got over it.

 

It's not that @Logan , it's worse because at this moment in time nobody has built up any immunity against it. Thats why we actually need people to catch it (hopefully midly) so that an immunity delvelops. Most of us have ,in varying degrees , an immunity to flu......just think how awful it would be if we didn't!!!

Mostly, yes as with every virus, the weak and the vulnerable are most at risk, but we mustn't get complacent....the young Dr who tried to warn the medical authorities about in back late last year died, and there have been similar deaths too. As yet it hasn't returned to people who have got over it...that is the pending question ...those who have had it are they now immuned, still waiting on that answer.

Same with my brother , we doing some of the carers tasks too.

How do you never go out to public places!!! There quite hard to miss!!
My Dad doesn't obviously as he is way too frail and sadly can't walk, but nevertheless we're all on alert to who he has coming in.
My brother also had a low immunity too , but he still gets out and about in his car and comes into public contact. In my opinion it's very hard not too, if you try carry on with normal life.
