Tell them, you need a copy of the Plant passport, as it is now current law, as per Alpha website.

Well, this morning I’ve just checked the pond for more amphibian spawn (none) set up the trugs to catch the forecast rain this afternoon, to top up the pond, used the mower to shred the hedge trimmings from earlier this week, and cut those areas of grass that were starting to look a little long and lush.

Just had a break for lunch, and after the obligatory cuppa, will head out to distribute a letter to the neighbours of our street, offering help...

I've just received the mower back from the mower hospital. They say it's on its last wheels. :heehee: It may last another year, rust is the problem. :hate-shocked: It's only 23 years old

Well, it was 50f outside in the garden but the cold gusting breeze made it feel more like 40f:doh:
I donned my mucky gardening clothes, put on a Body Warmer and then a thick Timber Jacket just to keep off the effects of the breeze.
I planted 6 Primroses of various coloured flowers along the edge of the borders but had to do it carefully to avoid digging up bulbs or damaging nearby plants. The borders are now full of stuff pushing out shoots and there are now some very strange looking shoots that get me scratching my head trying to decide what exactly they are!!:dunno::scratch::heehee:
I also planted two more Peonies.....

          Peony "Inspecteur Lavergne"
          upload_2020-3-20_16-0-58.jpeg

          Peony "Flame"
          upload_2020-3-20_16-4-19.jpeg

They're in the same border as 4 other Peonies which brings the collection up to around 11 and that doesn't count the other two Peonies sitting in pots on the Patio:dunno::heehee:
Luckily, the garden is quite sheltered so I was fairly warm and comfortable and decided to plant 25 Gladioli in groups of 5. Again, I have another 25 Gladioli to plant but that's a tomorrow job:doh: My borders are higher than my paths so I had to clear the centre path of soil that had slipped over the retaining walls of stone using my Trowel but it will have to be done properly with a spade. In the Green House I potted on a Geum, a Centeurea, and a Astilbe, watered all the plants in pots that are waiting to be planted in the borders . By then it was time to head for the House for that well deserved Mug of Tea!!:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Trimmed back a Cherry Laurel and used the new shredder to get rid of the clippings. Dug over a small area under/around the Laurel.

It's times like these - when you can't get out and about - that you appreciate a bimble around the garden. Those people in flats must be going bonkers.

Apart from looking at almost empty shelves at my local shop, I painted half the shed roof, before you ask why I didn't finish the job....well my knees were hurting like mad, so a job for Sunday me thinks.

Today had a lovely drive, from home to hay on wye, via Abergavenny and Breacon (scenic route),
Forgot how nice the Usk and Wye vallies andvthe Beacons are.
And how nice it was not to pay the best part of £12 Severn bridge toll.

I planted the cyclamen as a stop gap. So far they seem to have taken ok. I might leave them there. I have bought some gladioli bulbs that I will plant in there once the weather has started to warm up a bit. In the autumn I am thinking of adding a couple of sprays of daffodils. I have thought about some alpine groundcover like the red saxifriga in the yellow pot. I appreciate any suggestions. The bird figure is there to add a bit of height. It is also there to try to stop the cat from bolting across the bark to jump the fence, closely followed by a dog (or dogs).

Only filled the supply containers for the watering in the heated greenhouse. It is now up to the freezing mark but we will be looking at another plunge down to 20f tonight. So glad to be able to heat this space as I'm getting cabin fever and need more space inside and the cellar grow areas are full. The plants are very much enjoying the sun.

It will also be warm enough in the other little greenhouses to sort out their irrigation lines. Loving the sun!!!

Well, again, it got up to 50f but, again, the stiff cold breeze made it feel in the 30f's, so I put a warm jacket on as well as my mucky gardening clothes and finished of the planting of the last 25 Gladioli in groups of 5. I decided to start clearing the paths and started on the East path near the Green House and getting down on my knees starting scraping away the soil that had spilled out onto the path. I'd brought a short hand brush and pan so I was able to brush up the soil and throw it back onto the borders. I decided that, with the cold breeze, it was a job that could be left for another day so I retreated to the Green House and watered whatever plants needed it. Most of the Hardy Perennials in pots in the Green House seemed to have been on hold during the last weeks but are now starting to grow on nicely, so I'll have to start deciding where they will go in the borders. After that I headed for that lovely Mug of Tea, with the thought in my head that it needs to get a little warmer without that cold breeze.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:
