Hi FC, I had exactly the same thought.

I was in town this morning , everybody behaved impeccably. I got a take away coffee from Caffe Nero and sat by the river. There are about 15 benches and there was 1 person on each and people were walking by ( keeping their distance ) and smiling and saying hello to people.

Now the idiots in the cities and by the sea etc have gone and ruined for the rest of the country.

I really don't see why a town like ours ( still no cases ) should be put under lock down because of some bleeping mindless idiots from ( mostly London and the South ) elsewhere.

And as for rich folk using their second homes to escape to I just hope that when it's all over they suffer like the English did in Wales around 30 years ago and they have their second homes trashed and vandalised.

I wouldn't want to see anyone's property vandalised @KFF - - I would, however, have a new law; anyone who has a second home and that has bolted off to that second home to have a wee holiday and wander along the beaches/seafronts etc should have either that second home or their main home taken off them and turned into council housing never to be sold again.

3 weeks, I bet it gets extended, it did in Spain.

And as soon as they let it relax it will all start up again.

I'm trying to imagine the total panic when it's all over, that is if it ever will be all over.

Just imagine everything shut down cant even get a haircut, and rush there will be when you can.

On-line shops will still be OK - I've just placed an order with Toolstation - very inconvenient as I was planning on popping to the local store to collect tomorrow - but it's going to be shut.

Can someone answer my question I am a bit confused

I do garden maintenance for a living so clearly can't work from home can I go to work traveling from job to job ? or no work at all and stay at home tending to my own garden.

I want so plants as well ( online ) , will nursery be allowed to go to work ? they could lose there whole stock if its left untended ?

Its all a bit vague at the moment maybe they will say more later

I fear that you may fall into the same category of business as hairdressers or electrical stores, and you will not be able to work. The only work places that are allowed to open are those that are deemed essential (healthcare, food, transport, infrastructure). Sorry @Perki - your are the very sort of person that is going to suffer because people simply couldn't control themselves, and the very sort of person that does not deserve that suffering.

The latter, I'm afraid, Perki, as it is regarded as "none essential"l:dunno::coffee:

Its all a bit vague big time, I think you will have to stop working, and most businesses in the country are going to go down the pan.

Its all part of the Chinese plan to take over the world.

I just hope they are ready to pay the rest of the world the compensation claims they are going to get for bringing this lot down on us.

How will online shops still be OK if no body is allowed to go to work?

On line shops are exempt at the moment. The idea being there is no mingling of the public and the postie can leave the goods on the door step.

Yeah, but are the people who work at online shops considered essential workers?

                    This is what Boris said:
"Close all shops selling non-essential goods, including clothing and electronic stores and other premises including libraries, playgrounds and outdoor gyms, and places of worship"

So that doesn't include your business @Perki - I sincerely hope my interpretation is right.

Nurseries would be allowed to keep ticking over although not open to the public, they will be allowed to trade online same as any other.

They are not essential workers, but as they are not selling face to face my view is they will be allowed to carry on. I can't see Boris wanting to shut down the whole economy, on-line businesses etc will have to keep paying their taxes to fund all of this.

I see that HGV's and Buses have been exempt from the MOT test for 3 months - not cars - so I have to go and get the car MOT'd tomorrow - so that I can get the shopping in.

I don't want to go out - but needs must.
