      Aloha everyone,

I had a real nuisance yesterday trying to sort out a stupid problem with BT. They agreed it was stupid but couldn't work out how to correct it! I spent nearly an hour on the phone with them. Today I have to sort out another account with them but this is more straightforward.

I then want to have a go at the highways department. They have just gone by drilling out all the catseyes and filling in the holes. What a waste of time! It has also made our road less safe as it is very busy, winds a lot, doesn't have any lighting and I think that in poor night time conditions we are going to have accidents.

Keep well and have a great day

      Aloha!

        Good day
I'm on here late as I was a little tired from all the spackling and sanding. There were parts that were over my head and I won't use a ladder on stairs so I had to jump up and down to reach the spot that needed smoothing and it took about a hundred passes to get it nice and smooth. Would have been easier if I'd used a pogo stick!

@Flumpy I hope your hubby's recovery is steady and you can leave that worry behind you both.

@Upsydaisy I'm hoping to get things spruced up before May9th - planting out time. I've got lots of trim paint to freshen up all of the baseboards and window trims. It keeps me busy whilst having to stick around the house. Besides, as I've said, I haven't even started my carrots and the pubs are all closed anyway so it's my way of staying amused in these germy times!

I had a doctor's appointment today to get some paperwork signed to then mail to Health Canada but the doctor will be calling me instead. HC won't go without this document, to be signed by the doc, and they won't allow it to be faxed. I spent a lot of time on hold waiting to talk to someone yesterday to see if they'd adjusted their regulations to suit the times but no, they have not. And the department has no connection to anyone dealing with the virus situation so I wasn't wasting anyone's time with my enquiry. So it looks like I will have to ask my doctor to let me slip the papers through his door, along with a self addressed envelope so he can send them back to me to include with my application to renew my registration.

Oh well, enough whinging. The skies are a little brighter today and it is going up to 40f so I really have nothing to complain about.

Cheers all and many happy birthdays!

          Another lovely day has dawned.:)

Hope all are still keeping well.

Hope you get all the necessary paperwork signed and posted off Lori, can you start growing some now or do you have to wait to get the authorisation first?

Well another day sprucing up the garden is on the agenda, it's become a lovely routine now and I don't know what it will be like when the weather takes a tumble....I'm definitely not a ' staying indoor /at home' person, but obviously I will.....poor hubs!;)

          Take care.

Good morning all on this lovely sunshiny day, hope your all well?. Another day tidying the garden and also want to hoover and wash the car before the cold weather comes again.

Not looking forward to going back to work (chemist) Monday, I was told they are wearing gloves and not masks, even though they have been provided :yikes:

                              Aloha everyone,

Very rushed again today so we're off for our walk before we're interrupted again. Things are very quiet round here, empty roads, very few walking - even in the village.

Keep well and enjoy your day

                                Good day !
I'm starting to witness cloudy skies. In another 1/2 hour the sun will have risen and hopefully there'll be a few breaks in the cover to give me a few rays.

@moyra and @Upsydaisy I got my call from the doctor and he thought my solution was dandy. Delivered the envelope by slipping it through the door and they assured me that the forms would be mailed right away. The envelope also had my address as the return address so there's no excuse for me not to get it back. I have some seedlings going and my renewal is not due until the beginning of May but this particular department of Health Canada is notoriously slow in processing paperwork. Even renewals where not a thing has changed :rolleyespink:

My doctor is in another town and that is also where the Tractor Supply store is so I sanitized and stopped there to pick up some Giant Destroyers (gopher gassers re: rat battle) and it was great, they had the debit machine distanced from the cashier who also let you wave the bar code reader over the goods. Then I sanitized again. And on the way home, I stopped at the hazardous waste depot at the waste management site (dump) and they had a table distanced from the fellows for me to place all of the paint cans, some with a fair bit left in them. I also self served getting another green wheelie bin and blue bin for recycles. I don't need either but one son needs a blue bin and the green wheelie bins are a nice size to store items outdoors. They are only about 25" high and 13" x 13" at the top opening. I can put my sand on this one.

Then I came home and baked a loaf of cheese bread. Usually I won't bake until night or weekends because of the punishing time of use rates but now the electricity rate has been flattened to the lowest rate 24/7, it's like a holiday! I'm even going to do some laundry this morning :hapfeet:

So, all in all, I had a fantastic day, got a lot accomplished and didn't go near anyone :)

Today, I don't need to go anywhere so I will start rolling the pail of paint primer around the cellar to try to get it well mixed before starting to paint. It is a 5 gallon pail so I really don't think I could lift it and shake it around..:heehee:

I hope everyone has a safe day and has as much fun as I'm planning on having. :blue thumb:
