Not do anything yet today but my farmer gracy order arrived this morning some liatrus bulbs and dahlia red labyrinth so I'll plant them later . I going to dig out te day lilies sick to death of them not flowering they can live on the garge site road verge where the soil poor maybe that will force them to flower :noidea:. Got plenty of seedling to prick out later

Did a lot of potting on yesterday afternoon, my two Brugmansia maya were potted on into 10L pots with JI no3 this time for the coming season - cannas Pretoria and durban - ginger lily - cobaea - dolichos lablab re potted ,Perennials Echinacea Pallida and Agastache White liquor also potted on.

Cloudy today and colder with a strong bitter wind but warmer in the GH :)

Churchill!!! He had it many times when he wasn't in Office and had time to think and paint!:heehee: I confess I fall victim to a Black Dog day, but I try to keep myself busy while thinking of what the garden needs and will look like in the coming Spring and also believing that, while things might get worse for a while, but things will get better. I also have the two Kittens to keep me busy and "entertained" cleaning up after them and putting things back into place.
I'll be out in the garden again today and, depending on the temperature, I'll be trying to finish off the cleaning of the central path. It's 49f here at the moment but there is a stiff breeze which make it less, so it's a case of putting on more warm clothing and trying to keep out of the wind.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

I was doing some painting inside yesterday morning but was lucky that the minute I finished, the sun showed through and it was a marvelous afternoon for getting the irrigation lines set up in the two unheated greenhouses. I used a soldering iron to punch holes in the pot bottoms and inserted wicks of felt. They are now arranged in the little greenhouses. I didn't put the soil in them but did crunch up this winter's egg shells and layered the bottoms. I've got 3 green pots for the Red Habaneros, 7 orange for the Shiney Hybrids, 3 Purple for the Chocolate Douglahs, 5 green for the Ghost peppers, one of each colour (6) for the Carolina Reapers, and assorted colours (4) for the cherry tomatoes all ready to add the soil and seedlings.

Today it is cloudy and expected to pour and tomorrow the same but with thunderstorms and warmer so I think I'll just be sowing more seeds after getting the painting done.

This run up to spring is so exciting for me. Only 5 more weeks before it's safe to put things in the unheated greenhouses :blue thumb:

Back inside for a little bit for a brew before going outside into the garden, my laitrus bulbs from FG are very good quality but the dahlia tuber bit small but shooting so happy with that as well. Potted on my some sungold tomatoes - cucumbers - busy lizzies - bacopa - salpiglossis - begonia while in the Greenhouse.

Not in the garden as such as the wind has whipped up a bit and is bitterly cold. The greenhouse is lovely and toasty warm so I have been potting up some seedlings ....but the label has fallen off and now I can't remember what they are!!:noidea:

@Sian in Belgium -going outside in any sunshine and just looking at any flowers, or listening to birdsong is good for keeping the Black Dog at bay in my experience! As for seeds, if you have a Lidl foodshop, they sell some very decent seeds - the packets are very cheap and not a bad range of flowers and veg.

Sowing, pricking out, digging and weeding. I've had to order a new mower as they don't make them like they used to. This last one has only lasted 26 years
