@Islander77 I have a problem with socks wearing through at the heel long before the rest of it is worn at all. I've just, in the last three weeks, started sewing the heels back together. It's slightly lumpy there but not uncomfortable. Saving me from having to wear mismatched socks :)

In this house a sock is a sock is a sock. I am never out so it matters not! Wearing one black sock and one hand knitted slipper sock as it is… Maybe the cats have pinched them!

I had a similar response from another company @Fat Controller. The reason you're told to dispose of it is because returning often costs more than a refund or replacement.

It is a bit daft though really when you think about it - to just abandon something like that, on the say so of some bloke who bought it over the internet. I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with it. Frustratingly, the tub itself seemed reasonably good - as did the frame; if the holes lined up, I would have been sorted. No idea if I could drill them and use shims or washers, but even if I could I would need a wheel.

They don't want something back that is broken and the odds are they already knew, possibly having had the same issue with other buyers.

Can you make use of the tub for plants in the garden? Just drill a few more holes in it. :)

Maybe, or possibly as a spare tub for a replacement wheelbarrow, which I still need to order.

                          People don't care any more

FC, if they pay for return post and they have lots come back then they will have lots to get rid of so cheaper to let you to get rid of it
Parts for on things are made all over the place and if no one checks they fit together first it's only when item get to customer then they find the problems then expensive to sort out so cheaper to leave it to customer to sort
Moderen world with live in  no one care's

At work we often find that for items supplied wrong or damaged, suppliers say just keep it as it costs them more to get it back and restore to warehouse than the item is worth. If we misorder then again we simply reorder and repurpose, dispose of the item. As the restocking fee of £50 is more than the cost of the wrong item and the correct item together.

I think that is the bit that grates on me the most, is the waste - in theory, I could just lob the box in the boot and whip it down the dump, but what a waste that would be! Not just producing the thing, but shipping it (almost definitely) half way around the world, then to the supplier, then to me - - no wonder the world is cream-crackered. Mind you, I am part of problem really - because I only wanted a cheap thing, and cheap means made in China etc.

We really need to get back to making our own stuff, here in this country.
