My money saving tip, go to Stratford Butterfly Farm and use Tesco Clubcard vouchers :dbgrtmb: I was there on Wednesday, got bored with waiting for summer.

@wiseowl will be able to ID these 2 species

Saw 2 Brimstones today, had a camera + long telephoto lens with me, I gave chase but the wind blew them into areas where I could not follow in the faint hope of them settling.

Today I've seen Brimstones, Peacocks, Orange Tips, Green-veined Whites and Commas whilst out on my local walk with wife and dog. I'm going to miss some species seen only at local reserves, but within a 5 or 10 mins walk other years I've seen over half the UK species.

Only 2 stayed around for pics

I was trying to photograph one earlier, but it was just feeding on my Aubrieta deltoidea for extremely brief periods! They seem a rather skittish species, it flew off every time I approached it. :frown:

Just let somebody try suggesting that (trying to) photograph Orange Tips (and Brimstones) doesn't count as exercise! Hoping for similar myself now peak Dandelion season is approaching.

I was almost back home from our walk when another Orange Tip settled on an Honesty but I had put my camera away, by the time I got it out again it had flown off.

Holly Blue (male) in my garden a few minutes ago.

I'd only been reading the latest sightings on my BC branch website about an hour ago and saw of lots of Holly Blues being about and was hoping to see one.

Saw 4 Speckled Woods out on my walk which was targeted at them, but none settled.

3 Orange Tips and 1 Small White in the garden, but too skittish to photograph.

P.S. But I've discovered where the Robins nest is in our garden!

Do you want an Orange tip @Scrungee ? here's one I found settled in the greenhouse this afternoon and a Brimstone on our walk around the estate.
I've seen a few large Whites but no Green Veined or any Blues (yet).

I'm a bit concerned about this Orange-tip in my garden, seems extremely docile and didn't mind being picked up and moved to another plant. Anything I can do to help it? :dunno:

                              Thanks,
