Why don’t they fine them for refusing to disperse like in parks, after a few fines find them a job helping the sick instead of jail.
This is what happens to the rest of the uk, freedom of speech does not mean you can flout the law

Depending on the municipality here, the fine is from $500 -$1,000 for every person in a group. Four kids here got caught partying with a bottle of vodka, each chugging out of the same bottle and sitting in a bus shelter. Each got an $800 fine. Hope they tell all their friends!

I've now made masks for people I know who don't sew. They are non medical but a double layer of woven fabric reduces your chances of inhaling someone else's breathe if they are an ass and get close.

Drove to the workshop today to pick up a few tools and some other bits, the roads were very quiet, wish it was like that all the time.

The workshop flooded twice a couple of months ago and that dampness is still trapped in the building.
Didn't really have a good look round, but I'm wondering if the machinery is rusting up, it sometimes starts, to happen, in the Christmas break, to some extent.

But its just been left pretty much, with no precautions.

It's ok the government paying 80% wages, but just wondering how industry will get going again, some of the machinery we have is fairly light stuff, but still susceptible.

Heavy industry might find it a big problem.

Glass furnaces take about a week to get back up to temp too so not a quick restart for them...

Just got my letter from Boris. Not even dated! Standards are dropping lol

Surprised Management aren't asking someone to do some essential maintenance (assuming it is a "drop of oil" rather than massive cranes and loads of people tugging on a chain :) )

We are just "office jobs", but we have someone going in once a week to check the post, and for the reboot of anything that needs it, and to check if water / rats / bunglers are coming in. Such people aren't at any risk - at least not compared to someone working stacking shelves or at a checkout with no masks or anything much else (Tesco's have put up screens I think I have read, they aren't my closest supermarket ...)

I ponder how economy will get going again. I don't have any answers ...

it could bounce back ... or it could take years. Either way £330 billion (which has got up several times since), plus interest, is a lot of tax per head of population to pay back

If a restaurant closes there will be more custom for the other one, so the surviving restaurant can increase its prices "supply and demand" ...

... meantime some customers will be brassic, so there will be less custom ... so maybe the surviving restaurant will have to keep prices the same.

No idea. Toss a coin ... wish I had bought shares in Nintendo ...

I like the word Brassic meaning either "penniless" [probably more correctly spelled "Boracic"] or "Of or relating to brassicas" :)

T'other Half went to Aldi yesterday and said there are clear plastic curtains between the checkout person and the conveyor to just past where you pack and they are wearing masks and gloves.

Someone should go in and check things.

Even we go into the village hall each week to check on things although we closed it weeks ago. It doesn't need much. Check the lights and power sockets, flush the loos, check doors etc.

I saw on the news, in the early hours, that Facebook are banning all posts relating to 5G causing coronavirus. :blue thumb:

They should ban a lot of other fake news as well.

But although there's explicit signage on how to behave, it's located by the entrance, and not at the end of the queue, so new arrivals don't have a clue as what to do.

So they walk back and forth through the front of the queue to collect and return trollies, making a nonsense of 2m distancing.

The trollies haven't been unlocked and still require insertion and release of £1 coins/trolley tokens. There are no wipes available to clean trolley handles.

The security 'guard' type at the entrance constantly gets in the way of those in the front of the queue, those entering the store, those from the queue getting trollies, those returning trollies.

In the store children are running around away from their parents who're making no attempt to control them. No advice on distancing is being given over the PA system.

                            It's a shambles.
