WHAT'S BUZZING OR FLYING NEAR YOU 2020

If you can see it's feet, as in your pic, there is a very long hind claw which IDs it as a Meadow Pipit. In a mixed flock it isn't easy apart from no crest.

First Greenfinch in the garden for years, appeared yesterday evening and then again today.
I stood outside the conservatory, (unlike the Greenfinch shot) to get a clearer ones of the Goldfinches, fortunately they stayed there.

Ring-Necked Duck, the first of this species I have ever seen.

 

@hydrogardener We have had a few here over the last couple of years but usually in winter so not looking their best. Ours mix with the similar looking Tufted Ducks which do turn up occasionally on the east US coastline, have you seen them anywhere?

 

Saw my first house martins Saturday ... about 6 , no swallows yet and its too early for swifts

They do look very similar and I can see how they might get mixed up....
That said, the ebird.org site shows they are supposed to be around this area but I have never seen one, however, I would like to.

Great Crested Grebe, over 7hrs return walk to the see the nearest ones to me

If you see them when their young have hatched you might see them carrying them on their backs.
