    Hey everyone,

So I'd taken a couple of lavender cuttings last week and I'm trying to root them in compost inside a plastic propogator to keep them warm and humid.

How long do they usually take to root and how do i know when to take them out of the propogator?

2 of them appear to have definitely got taller since taking the cuttings as shown below. 20200404_192550.jpg 20200412_173726.jpg

Never tried them. Simplest method is. Having cut back the lavender. Now sprinkle a good amont of compost over the whole plant. As soon as yo see new shoots, that is a good indicator that new roots have formed. Carefully delve down and expose the buried growth. Now take your pick.

I leave cuttings until I can see some root coming out of bottom of container.

Not sure now is the best time, but who knows it might work.
Personally I'd wait till late summer and use new semi ripe shoots that have formed after the cutback after flowering, taken with a heel.

        If that makes sense.
